Intro is the Targaryen family tree. Blood of the dragon. Flowing through the model of Valyria Viserys is making in his chambers. We see the first symbol the doom of valyria with volcanoes erupting and dragons falling and Aegon the Conqueror's crown. That represents Aegon the Conqueror. And then we see his two sisters Visenya and Rhaenys. Then from Visenya we see a line going to her son Maegor the cruel and a line from Rhaenys going to her son Aenys. From Aenys we see Jaehaerys and Alysanne. From Jaehaerys and Alysanne we see several lines coming because they had 13 kids. From their son Aemon we see a line to Rhaenys, the Queen who never was and from Baelon and Alyssa we see the lines to Viserys and Daemon. Daemon's symbol is his winged helmet, Viserys' symbol his crown. And from Viserys we see a line to Rhaenyra. Her symbol is the locket of her Valyrian steel necklace Daemon gave her. And eventually blood flows into a fiery pit. Fire and blood. All those in the family tree that are dead have their symbols overflowing with blood, so you can see everyone till Aemma, Viserys' ex wife has their symbols overflowing with blood. With each person dying and new characters being born, this intro will update. So keep an eye on it.

There is a theory that the throne cuts people that it doesnt think are worthy to sit it. Jaime talked about the mad king being called king scab because of how often it cut him. That being said, it is a chair made of swords lmao 🤣

I think Otto didn't want Viserys to go to Dragonstone because he's afraid that if Viserys and Daemon meets and chat for some time, they might reconcile their relationship and Viserys might invite Daemon back into his life and into his court. Otto is trying to get Daemon as far as possible from Viserys

Ambrosio Sanchez

are Corlis and daemon actually problems or...

DEKU

You should watch A Night of the Seven Kingdoms it's way better then hotd

August Banks

Viserys is a CHICKEN! Bawk, bawk, bawk!!

Mohammad Conte

I love a knight of the 7 kingdoms but it is not better than HOTD

Brian

But still one of the better kings to rule the seven kingdoms

Brian

Are you serious? Like genuinely do you think it’s better?

DEKU

Wayyy better yes in every way

Jordan Clark

Daemon’s dragon Caraxes also known as “The Blood Wyrm” it’s just a different looking dragon no real rhyme or reason. It is a bad ass name though probably my personal favorite of them all

JH__

your face during the whole scene with Laena and Viserys was frying me 😭

Mari

yall only like it bc its more book accurate however i like the scenes that arent word for word from the book better. to me they have the best acting where as some of the dialogue from the book comes out dry besides episode 4 that was mostly from the book and it was amazing but every other episode felt dry when they did book dialogue to me.

Flexorcist

Yea i agree that Otto keeps Viserys very far away from Daemon.. you can see the love between those two brothers.. very different and messy but Daemon is very protective of Viserys

Say what you will about Otto, but he is very competent. He served 2 kings while the realm he helped maintain is peaceful and prosperous, even for the smallfolk. He feels he’s earned his position and isn’t shy about advancing his family’s interests. Viserys knows Otto is self-serving, but so is every high lord at that table. Viserys himself acknowledges this in the series, but you don’t get a seat on the Small Council without being both extremely competent and valuable to the realm. People go hard at Viserys for being “manipulated” by his council. I don't accept this frame. I think he knows exactly what’s going on and permits it as long as he sees it as stabilizing the realm. Gentleman and scholar, Tywin Lannister said about a century later, something along the lines of: “A wise king knows what he knows and what he doesn’t....listens to his councilors and heeds their advice....And the wisest kings continue to listen to them long afterwards.” Although at the time it was self serving, it's the correct advice. It’s the Maegors, the Joffreys, who ignore counsel, start wars and do whatever they want. Viserys makes mistakes like every human, but him not overreacting after every petty slight or perceived scandal is smart and prioritizes the realm's long-term stability. His leniency with Daemon makes sense too. Daemon is an attention whore with a nuclear weapon, and Viserys knows this. He understands his brother’s personality, like many Targs: volatile, arrogant and powerful. He knows how critical it is that the realm not see division between them, especially given the prophecy Aegon the Conqueror passed down that we heard in Episode 1, and more importantly, he knows his brother deeply loves his family & their house/history. There are crucial weaknesses in Viserys that I’ll speak on when they are revealed. Him choosing Alicent instead of Laena you can say is a weak moment of judgement for him, but I don't think listening to his counselors makes him a weak king. Matter fact they all correctly advised him to marry Laena in this episode, including Otto when he conceded that he felt bad that the King has to remarry now. You still have to be truthful no matter how self-serving you are. King just gave into emotions(lust?) and the Hand played a better game here. Who is Corlys Velaryon to demand who the Targaryen king should marry anyway? And what would the opposite of Viserys be? What kind of nonsense would befall the realm with a king more ambitious or aggressive trying to make a name for himself? Is he really that wrong for listening more to the Hand of King Jaehaerys the Conciliator over his entitled brother who it seems only believes in Targ fire and blood? It's not like Daemon didn't lose that influence and goodwill he had with his brother all on his own in ep 1 and pushed him to Otto. Great reaction!

Michael

these first few episodes are so goated lowkey

Otto Hightower is such a good character and acted so perfectly xD

Joey Largehands

Ser Ryam Redwyne was the Barristan Selmy of their time. One of the greatest kignsguard ever.

Joey Largehands

Not the Great Sept of Baelor... The Targaryen king that it's named after has not been born yet.

The Targs were a very mid tier family in Valeria despite them having dragons (everyone in old Valeria had dragons) but had the foresight to leave before shit it the fan essentially giving them a monopoly on the dragons after the doom of Valeria. So they went from being a C tier house in Valeria to a A tier powerhouse in Westeros. Corlys is insulted because the Valerians were wayyy more prominent back in old Valeria by comparison despite them being a naval power with no dragons. The Valerians also left old Valeria but they were a nav

Remember history is written by the victors so Rhaenyra
