Loving these vids.

Ravens can mimic sounds in real life like parrots. Check it out.

Arya looking like both Lyanna and Jon is definitely an intentional clue at Jon's parentage. There is totally enough evidence in the first book to make the connections that Lyanna is Jon's mother.

when they say “of his name” that means they are/were king so there have been more Aegons at that point but the conqueror had been the only king named Aegon but there had at least been 4 Aegons between him and Viserys son. but in Hotd that was the Lord of Oldtown Ottos brother who said it. He says “heres to Aegon the Conquerbabe 2nd of his name on his 2nd name day.” its not a true title but the same play they were making the whole episode of trying to get Viserys and the ppl to see Aegon as heir.

Great vlog, keep ‘em coming.

every noble house that isnt the main 9 is bigger in the books than game of thrones its why everyone thinks the hightowers and velaryons are gone bc the events in HOTD they are still there lol

Mari

also similar thing when Nan talks about Brandon she not talking abt his ancestor she is talking abt all the Brandon Starks she has personally known which have at least been 3 or 4.

Damn only 57 minutes...still about to lock in!

Yep part of my personal belief why this won't be THE big reveal in the books the way it was in the show.

As far as the Others/White Walkers thing, the terms are used interchangeably in the books. From what I understand, the show decided to only use 'White Walkers' because Lost was still on tv and quite popular back when Game of Thrones Season 1 was in development and one of the main antagonists in that show were also called the Others.

50:40 I believe Lyanna was given a blue rose not a white one

Once you finish the main 5 books hope you will read the other books Fire and Blood and A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms and also the world book. The World of Ice and Fire. That book has more details on places like Asshai and every single place in this universe

Vishnu Vatheriparambil Mohandas

When you said Bran and Dany are the magical elements, all I could think was ice and fire. Bran tied to the magic of ice and Dany to fire.

Aegon 2nd of his name means he's the 2nd Aegon to be the king. Only the ones that become king will be numbered

One reason why i don't feel sympathy for Sam's character is , in this world strength is all that matters. So Randyll Tarly wanting a strong son is just a normal thing. Sam didn't even try. Sam got to leave the wall with Gilly only because Jon was his friend. He used that friendship. Sam trying to make Jon Lord Commander was for his own benefits i feel. That's cunning, but that's a good skill too in this world. Do you think any other Lord Commander would let Sam a Night's Watchman go with his girlfriend to citadel? In addition to all that show made Sam useless at the end. So all his trip to Citadel with his girlfriend was a vacation. And then without even completing his course in citadel, he became a maester, but not just a maester but grandmaester😂 Show runners making up stuff for the Disney fans😂

The description of the guy who paid for Gendry it seemed like Varys with a fake beard pretending to be someone else. I don't think it's Jon Arryn because he just discovered Gendry in that shop.

Licha, if you do read the comments. A suggestion is highlighting or noticing any themes that reoccur (or things of that nature). Make it a book club of sorts. Ask questions, open up discussions that are interactive. These books are great for deeper discussions. I've found I've personally gotten the most out of the books / this world when I really engage with it and bounce thoughts back and forth with others. All that said, idk how practical that is for you and others here. I've only had the free time due to medical reasons. But this world & fandom engagement has gotten me through a lot. The immersion is euphoric.

Hmm a force pulling people in certain directions. Interesting thought...

Speaking of that Qartheen prophecy and the moon cracking. Drogo calls Dany "Moon of my life", Dany calls Drogo "My sun and stars". And what happens at Drogo's funeral pyre? Let's re-read that Qartheen prophecy again...

I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but if you haven't, Stannis was on Robert's small council. He was Master of Ships. hat's why he was in KL, and that's why it's odd that he's not currently there. Likewise, Renly is Master of Laws.

Im not sure who’s telling you George likes to throw people off with his writing. They’re just wrong. As you pointed out your self and already deducted, it doesnt seem like that. George never does that, when he writes something, it’s not to throw you off or confuse you. No good writer worth his salt is doing that

I know what these videos need- More.....Trevor! Actually this video had a sufficient supply of Trevor lol. Too much? Nope! Also maybe in between chapters you could sometimes take a minute or 2 to either compare the books vs show or to yap about theories or just about the story so far. I know you already give us lots of these thoughts as you are reading but like your intros these would have the benefit of time for you to process the information. Another suggestion would be to when you are referring to things in the book- like when Ned was grumpy during Arya's chapter- to do some editing magic to show the lines of text on the screen so that we know exactly what you are referring to. If this is time consuming or there is any chance that this will cause copyright problems then scratch that idea. My last idea (for now) is these vlogs might be a good time for you to continue with SOME of the lore videos. Only after you've read the chapters that the videos spoil. This idea might take extra work from the mods to figure out if the videos are contain spoilers- so possibly not a good option.

My_Cousin_Mose

Regarding House Malister- just about every house is bigger and more important in the books unless its house Stark, Targaryen, Baratheon, or Lannister. Also yes the books have so much more magic than the show. The showrunners said they wanted to tone down the fantasy elements to appeal to a wider audience. Which then begs the question- why make an adaptation of a fantasy series?

I somehow missed this video the last five days and now I have a work meeting about to start! Damnit! Looking forward to this later :)

As far as your question of what you could do in these videos, I think what you're doing now is fine. There's not much reason for analysis or summary when you've already done it in the show. I think I'd be a good time to do a deeper analysis when the material starts to differ from the show

ARYA II: "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. Summer is the time for squabbles. In winter, we must protect one another, keep each other warm, share our strengths. " George clearly signalling the endgame here. 'Summer is the time for squabbles', over, say, a throne. But winter is coming, and Westeros will have to come together to survive.
