Joey Largehands

Once again, it's so great to have these out every Thursday. Secondly, this ones basically an hour long. Nice! Thirdly (and haven't started yet), hope to see a theory wall!

Joey Largehands

The Arya theory is indeed crackhead seeing we're what halfway through book 1 of 7 (of which 5 are published) lmao... I thought I loved mysteries but Licha being introduced to Ashara and immediately going into overdrive is entertainingly insane. Carry on, keep cooking, it's dinner time. P.S. (and said with love)... nothing like a sweet summer child ha

Joey Largehands

Jokes aside, keep paying attention to symbolism and metaphors, and THEMES, and descriptions. Pay very close attention.

Joey Largehands

Genuine question, I'd genuinely like to hear your answer to this.. where do you get Jon being an embodiment of a Targaryen? What does that mean and how did you get to that conclusion? Also, I know it's difficult, but please try & park the show in the garage for a bit. It's not easy or wholly realistic since you just finished GOT and it'll def require a conscious effort. The book (up to this point) doesn't say Lyanna married Rhaegar. In general it's prolly best to limit assumptions based on what the show did.

Mari

the first time she got hooked on her i said uh oh 😭😭

Nick Jones

Licha out here giving us new Ashara Dayne theories 30 years after the book was published😂

Joey Largehands

And that was in Cat's first chapter haha.. at this rate this series might give her an aneurism. One of my favorite aspects of seeing show viewers read the books is how poorly the show prepares them for a lot of the story in the books, especially from ACOK... makes the reactions so much more entertaining.

Joey Largehands

Jeyne is so cool, will be interesting to see where her story goes

Michael West

Great vlog. So glad you are enjoying the book so far. So many characters and adventures that didn’t make the show and I’m loving your excitement and theories/

Joey Largehands

tbf that's the first time I've heard Arya is Ashara lol

Mari

Valyria has a portal to America

Joey Largehands

C'EST SUPERBE!!! Great catch on that hint in the Ned x Cersei convo... although there exists a theory argued that those 5 children were being compared to Cersei's children, making them all bastards lol (I don't subscribe to that but there's a rabbit hole for ya).. Lol, "the whole plot"... GOT always lurking in the psyche

joe gibson

we call grrm, "george". haha "martin "sounded odd. And robert hates jaime, if he found out out jaime was sleeping with cersei he would lose it

Jacob Cahoon

love that you asked in the beginning if you can call him "Martin". a lot of creators call him just George, or grrm (phonetically germ with a soft g) lol

Joey Largehands

Very cool to notice what Dany actually thinks about having other Targaryen family around. If only Viserys wasn't an ass and showed respect to her & the people he's trying to have fight for him. Oh well, anyways... Crazy the GOT showrunners used THIS scene as the first "sign" of Dany's 'madness'.. Licha already has better reading comprehension than D&D lol

Joey Largehands

Syrio's "True Seeing" convo is one of my favorites of the entire series.

Joey Largehands

Also notice what Syrio does not say to Arya.. that entire convo about the "god of death" & "not today" does not exist in the books.

Joey Largehands

Arya's thoughts on the stable boy coming back to life and her killing him again... foreshadowing the Long Night mayhaps?

Joey Largehands

These were some fire chapters. Enjoyed this!

Brandon Morris

I had pretty much given up on hoping that George finishes the series, but watching these videos is really making hope he does again. The theorizing stuff in ASOIAF is like no other.

Joey Largehands

People still come up with fresh theories to this day. Tells you how good and mysterious the story is.

YounesCuppino

it's not Eddard's honesty that doomed him, but his failure to understand and make use of the nature of his office; instead, he saw himself as Robert's friend and advisor only, and relied entirely on his ability to sway Robert's judgment.

Mari

i think they are done i gave up hope but there was a line in a knight of the seven kingdoms that i think was for us waiting for the books

Marc van de Klashorst

Five books in, and we still don't know for sure how Ashara fits in.

IcySystem

Arya isn't some woman reincarnated, Arya is ahorse.

My_Cousin_Mose

Abandon all hope ye who read these books! They are really freaking good but I'd bet some big bucks that they will never be finished. At least not during George's life.

My_Cousin_Mose

I just love how much more we get of each character through their thoughts. Like we knew Sansa starts her journey as a brat and a bit of an airhead but the book really lets you see that. I'm really looking forward to what you think once you get into Theon's head.

My_Cousin_Mose

"Fear cuts deeper than swords" is such a great line and has stuck with me since reading.

Woodstove

Ned is a stronger man than me

bloodraven

Yeah, it's easy to forget, but there are a lot of plots and characters all over the map, many things happening at the same time related in some way. That's something I love about ASOIAF, but I also think it's why George has a problem finishing the books.

Robby Mack

I can tell once you finish the books, you're gonna watch every theory video on David Lightbringer's channel just like me. Then you will truly be Charlie Day with red string everywhere 🤣

Dae

Joey shut the fuck up and put 1 comment not 13 separate ones

Benji Skyler

Or Preston Jacobs. Dornish Master Plan, baby!

Benji Skyler

The Viserys death scene really illustrates Dany's mindset. She still cares for her big brother on some level, but also knows he signed his own death warrant. It really drives me crazy that Mad Queen theorists point to her cold demeanor at the moment of Viserys's death. Hello? He held a knife to her pregnant belly! One of the later Catelyn chapters comes to mind, when it says that The Mother is more fearsome than The Warrior when Her children are in danger.

Zenobia

I do love your reading and theorizing of the show and books. I think you do have a point with your theory about Arya. However, I do think you had double standards when it came Jon. You seem to understand other character's bratty behavior such as Sansa for example, who is far more bratty then Jon. These characters are not perfect, they are learning lessons and coming of age. Actually Jon in the show also said it was the revenge of Alliser Throne. If you have worked and trained really hard to be a good fighter all of your life and you are proven to be best in the group, and yet you don't get the position most people will not be happy. It is like being skipped over for promotion at work while you known you were the most suited for the job. Jon is the most introverted character in the story, he also doesn't show much emotion. From a book perceptive we do get his internal thoughts so that does explain a lot, but these scenes where they are assigned positions is not that different from the show. A noble bastard is a very lonely position, you are never good enough for nobility but you are socially higher then the common people. So this is really an outcast position. In a monarchy the children of a Queen is literarily the business of the State, the whole point of a Queen is to sire heirs. Even if Cersei were cheating on Robert with another man it would not have mattered. Cheating for a Queen was treason. Go back in history the most famous example was Anne Boleyn, she was executed for treason when it was thought that she had cheated on Henry VIII. The whole point of a monarchy is to create heirs. I think you are getting the wrong message from the books or for the Starks. I don't the idea is that being honorable, dutiful and merciful is wrong. In fact the Starks are strongly connected with duty. If Ned had done his duty the situation might have worked out better. Ned's duty was to tell Robert about Cersei's treason, even if Robert was on his death bed. Ironically if Ned had done his duty here the situation could have been saved. As for your theory, I think you are correct, but I think Lyanna is a representation of Arya and Sansa.
