Yay! I live in Florida. It’s great here. It gets really hot here though. Just fyi.

Dae

Filming in advance is better than 2 weeks without imo

Stephen Cobb

I don’t mind filming in advanced to keep your content going

Stephen Cobb

Congrats on the move by the way!!

raine

some hotd fans get very weird about certain characters, its best to stay out of the comments. on the other hand, a knight of the seven kingdoms has a really great fanbase so far, its so lively and wholesome over there u will love it!

Ambrosio Sanchez

To change the system all they would need is for Alicent and Otto not to try to make Aegon the heir. That's literally it. They are by far the most powerful ppl in the world, no one can do anything about it. nevermind the fact that there isn't actually anything wrong happening

Joey Largehands

I def agree with the advance and it's temporary. Soon you'll be back to uploading same-day and engaging. Congrats to your partner! The East Coast & South ain't so bad. Live in FL myself after moving here from Jamaica as a kid. Like with any big move, there'll be a bit of a culture shock at first but you'll settle in quickly. It does get hot & humid here though so prepare for that lol.

Now that you are at the end of season 1, what are your thoughts about the Maesters in the court? Because I have this strong theory. My theory: Citadel is in Old Town and their liege lords are Hightowers. I believe Hightowers and Maesters are working together. I think Maesters are either not treating Viserys' illness properly, or they're trying to get him worse. In episode 5 when a younger maester suggested a new treatment, Melos just denied. Were they trying to get rid of Viserys? Were tgey responsible for multiple miscarriage and death of Aemma? Was their goal to take down Targaryens and get their Hightower lords on the throne? Viserys mentioned his father died of burst belly, aka appendicitis making it difficult to have an heir for Jaehaerys the old king. And that's how Otto became hand to Jaehaerys and then to Viserys. I even believe Otto suggested to Jaehaerys to arrange the great council to elect his heir. Because he knew otherwise Corlys will somehow get Rhaenys on the throne. And Corlys getting that much power will hinder Otto's plans. Even in this season, multiple times we saw how Otto tried to stop Corlys from leveling up (since episode 1 with Stepstones). And Otto knew the lords of the realm will elect Viserys over Rhaenys. Maybe that's why he suggested to Jaehaerys to arrange this great council election. Maybe Otto is the Little Finger of this story plotting from the beginning? I may be overthinking and might be crazy.. But what are your thoughts on this? Also faith of the seven has it's main sept in Old Town. Hence Hightowers being very much into the seven. And Targaryens are not into the faith of the seven. Making the old town even more reason to get rid of Targaryens from the throne. Otto recommending Viserys to name Rhaenyra his heir was to prevent Daemon from being the heir. He tried creating rift between Viserys and Daemon by bitching abou Daemon every chance he got. Rhaenyra was just a placeholder till a male heir was born. Otto planned all this if I'm right. He's the master player in this story.

Re: comments, that's fair. Personally I don't even mind a discussion on any platform regarding morals. I do think they play a role in the story, and if they do, they are worth discussing (as they relate to the story). << that part is crucial though. So much so that if we remove morals from the discussion, we are actually missing important aspects of the story. But like you said, as long as it's not attacking anyone's character. Even from a purely political angle: A good example is a disagreement from me on just because the system is set up that way, doesn't mean we (or the characters) have to accept it, and if they go against the system that they are somehow politically in the wrong. In this case, the chaos begins not because of Rhaenyra (no matter her actions) but because of Otto's meddling. He's the one breaking his oath and going against the king's word and a decision the high lords of the realm agreed to. Ultimately it's Rhaenyra vs Aegon to sit the throne, so politically who would you choose between the two? Further adding, backing Aegon is exactly what's causing the war. Rhaenyra was named heir. Accepting that means no war.

Ambrosio Sanchez

the logic is confusing. we can stop the war by simply letting rhaenyra be queen... literally all the problems are solved if we just listened to viserys' (and aegon's) wish and made rhaenyra the queen. and not aegon.

Juancho

The war could also be stopped by simply letting Aegon be king…

Juancho

Nope. To change the system, you let the great lords of the country vote on an heir. Just like at the great council.

Joey Largehands

Genuine question, do you think if Aegon usurped the throne and the Greens killed Rhaenyra and her family, that there wouldn't be war? Even before all that, do you think they'd be able to usurp the throne AND kill all of the Blacks successfully without an escalation? If so, why? What's the rationale?

Amanda Hill

I 1000% believe in this theory. It was heavily hinted at in the book. The Citadel/Old Town/Hightowers wanted to control the throne.

Scott S

Welcome to Florida, will be interested to hear what you think of the summer when it gets here. I don't mind pre-recorded content.

Amanda Hill

A lot of people love Aemond as a villain, and while I can see the things that have made him who he is…a lot of other characters have dealt with FAR worse and not taken the paths he takes. He said the dragon was enough exchange for the eye. He, in fact, *started* the exchange which led to him losing his eye. I agree the point of the ending was to further impress upon us that they do not have total control of their dragons, as Viserys said “the notion that we control the dragons is simply an illusion”. Aemond’s intent may not have been to kill Luke (and I don’t think it was) but seriously what do you think is going to happen when you take a war machine out with a mind of its own to f**k with your younger nephew and one of the smallest dragons in the realm? Idk, I watched this when it aired and it still gets me heated. I adored Lucerys so much, and he was so so innocent/sweet. Also watching Rhaenyra lose her father, the crown, her unborn child and her son who worshipped the ground she walked on all in one episode was enough for me to forever be Team Black. However, I can also be acutely aware of the actions, intentions and wrongdoings both sides commit.

Mari

my thing i dont think this series or book is supposed to be viewed strictly from a “Westerosi”or “medieval” mindset. westeros is the most medieval but in general this story pulls all throughout true history. the way the book is written i think there is point in pointing out how contradictory these laws are. there is a point in making honorable people do dishonorable things. imo the world isnt brutal bc thats just Westeros the world is brutal bc it is an exaggerated criticism of how corrupt ours is.

Mari

i think jacaerys saw they werent as gifted as aemond and when they came back hes harder on their training.

IQLou

100%

IcySystem

It's crazy to me, how the viewers of this show get pulled into this propaganda-like team green vs black drama. Fierce, tribalistic discussions ensue. People acting like sheep. Justifying all kinds of atrocities... ... when it's so obvious that team black is the only right answer. 😂

Joey Largehands

The idea they don't have control over the dragons (when fully bonded) is also show only.

Jonathan Val

Come join the blacks like most ppl do

Dale Gwynn

OMG!!!! Welcome to the Sunshine State!!!! Alligators, Love Bugs, and of Course Hurricanes... You guys are going to love it here!!! My thoughts... I will miss you but take a few weeks off to get settled. You will need some time to absorb Florida trust me... Especially this time of year... Bring plenty of allergy meds too... Pollen is high in the Spring!!! I have been here 30+ years now so.... any Florida questions... don't be shy... hit me up!! Happy to help.

Mari

im team black and i agree but i could see some rationale to it i think it could end up similarly to the blackfyre rebellion to where instead of otto and alicient starting the war it would be the princes themselves but later

Jono Taylor

You are defiantly one of the best game of thrones reactors because you actually care and understand what is all going on political and socially as was intended. I really enjoy your deep analysis as it reminds me a lot of the major channels that break down the books and theories to understand the complexity of the story , it’s so refreshing to have you as a member of our community and the overall Fandom :) . Best of luck with the move and I hope you do what is best for you in this hectic time regardless of what it is for your channel.

SpacePotato

Daemon reminds me of Gordan Ramsey when he yells "what are you going to do about it?"

Nick Jones

Congrats to Cam on the new job! Do whatever you guys need to do to get settled in. Florida is beautiful. Someday you’ll need to check out the waterfront in savannah, GA or Hilton head island. Tons of great places to check out. Also, agree about the comments lol. HBO boosting the “team” stuff was fine at the beginning but it’s insane now.

IQLou

Great reaction! I think you should film in advance, congrats on the move!

Nick Lackie

It’s interesting to hear more about your perspective, but honestly you should be able to experience the show however you like without feeling like you have to defend yourself from people taking things too personally in the comments. Their problems are theirs, not yours. Recording in advance would be great, and hope you enjoy Florida!

Jordan Clark

Florida no state income taxes. That’ll be awesome moving there would be worth it for that alone!

ramon carter

we are keeping a seat for you on team black lol

Marc van de Klashorst

Rhaenys the Tactful: "Oh hi, your dad is dead." Regarding the move: First of all, congratulations! Second, do whatever ("whatever whatever"?) fits you best. Any move is an undertaking, but moving from one side of the country to the other side is a whole other thing altogether. We will be here anyway.

Jose

Congrats, on your moving. It’s a way big step for you. Since you mentioned it, I will still be following you. I know you will be slow putting content, since you’re moving. But regardless I’ll will still be supporting you for the month and yes I’m literally those people that bashed on you before. It’s just me being a Daenerys fan

Maurice Jamian Cupido

Loving the reactions. Keep forming your own opinions. Its what we love about your reactions.

SPACEZFAP

screw that nepo baby

SPACEZFAP

most people are idiots

SPACEZFAP

Don't fall for the team black propaganda! They're just too ignorant to see what it's like in the other person's shoes!

Mari

2 statements that showed me that i was supposed to use my own morals and not just completely look at it from Westerosi standpoint. the convo w jaime and cat in season 2 where he says “no matter what u do ur forsaking one oath or the other” and then ned in the books saying if “if the gods despised bastards so much why did they fill men with such lust.” the convo w jaime shows that all laws shouldnt be followed or ur bound to breaking one law following another. neds thoughts is both an attack on religion and the lustful nature of men and how the women and children suffer from the result of it.

Elendil

rhaenyra & daemon are such a goth couple they go hard toghter

Naut

I just wanted to share my two cents about the move. Personally, I’d prefer consistent uploads, rather than missing out completely for two weeks. I’m not always able to catch new episodes as soon as they’re posted, and since I’m not a big commenter or heavily involved in the discussions, that side of things doesn’t affect me much. Missing uploads altogether, though, definitely would. In any case, I hope the move goes as smoothly as possible! Moving is a huge ordeal and pain in the ass lol even within the same city—let alone going from one state to another. Wishing you all the best, and I look forward to seeing you back once you’re settled in.

Joey Largehands

Very well said, Mari! I think a lot of the discourse around the books focuses too much on theories/plots and not what the characters are actually going through in their journeys. Almost like the author is sending a message and asking us to ponder these moral, socio-economic & socio-political dilemmas. Treating intricate stories like it's a game of X's & O's misses a massive part of what the story is telling us. Ironically, I'm not sure if the showrunners get the story's message judging by GRRM's recent comments. D&D certainly didn't, George prolly having PTSD lol

Starspire Station

I'm so sorry people have been attacking you in the comments. It's completely uncalled for! On another note, congratulations on the move! As a Florida local used to the erratic weather here, take all the time you need to settle in; no rush on our account. l've also been catching up on House of the Dragon Season 2. It's definitely a departure from the books compared to the first season; the writers have taken more creative liberties this time around since they're working with a much smaller slice of the source material (less than 20 pages). It's certainly a different experience, and many characters almost do complete 180s, but I hope you still find it fun!!

Joey Largehands

Tbf even S1 was a sizable departure from the books. Excluding some similar big events, no one knows what to expect from S3 & S4, which is an interesting space to be in.

Joey Largehands

So many Floridians in here! Who's hosting the Licha Reacts watch party? Lol

Starspire Station

True! S1 made a lot of changes as well, but I think they set things up well and a lot of them were for the better. I love Season 2, but it does have a few more flaws than Season 1.

Starspire Station

I think they're great when they are in alliance, but Daemon is such a loose cannon and probably not the best person for Rhaenyra (I mean, he's her uncle). I also think him choking Rhaenyra was insane, but overall, they work well together when in accordance!
