Absolute CINEMA. I think I like this episode more than the first

Nick Jones

Just remember this is the GoT version of another book. I defended season 2 to a degree because I thought they did a decent job hitting some major plot points. Holy hell they're just doing their own shit at this point.

The music this season has been insane

Otto HAD to go im sorry theres just no way

Well I’d say a majority of viewers have never read the books (myself included) so we would never recognize the differences between the book & the show. Plus, from what I’ve heard, the book is told from multiple different perspectives of characters who weren’t even present for most of these events. So there isn’t really even a set-in-stone series of events anyways, just guidelines. For the show only fans, I would wager it’s safe to say the show is doing a fine job at being “good”

This is trueee but I think maybe Daemon should've done it? A merciful death and then she's seen as more merciful?? Daemon can be our executioner hahah

Avery

Yeah I agree with that. But i'm all for Rhaenyra's dark arc...😬🤷🏼‍♂️ Lets get dirty and nasty

Avery

If you notice the remark from Helena saying they will think Alicent is mad, I think the writers are trying to show us that history told the story wrong and she isn't actually mad like how we see her in the books.

Mari

the point was always her and jon uniting westeros to fight the others it doesnt matter if bran became king🙄🙄

Actors carrying the writing once more. Daemon and Rhaenyra walking into Kingslanding without any soldiers, sure guys, great plan :) That's what we came up with for Rhaenyra after stalling since the end of Season 1? Did I read it right, that Mysaria is somewhat openly contesting Daemon as love interest for Rhaenyra and Daemon knows about it? That's what I'm getting for the much anticipated 'fish feed' battle? Off-screen...

Flexorcist

Daemon did not want the picture that Otto was painting. Thats growth, he did not want Rhaenyra to appear weak.

Zach VanDyke

That close up shot of Halaena Targaryen looking at the insect she looked just like Dany I almost thought it was Dany

Luuk

Otto really had top go, he's the entire reason this whole thing started. Got his daughter to marry Viserys and ever since pushed Aegon to be the heir instead of Rhaenyra...

Daniel Gomez

Was Helaena's comment in the garden foreshadowing that winter is coming?

JJ

Book readers and their constant complaints have got to be the worst fans in existence

I've been going back and forth on how I feel about this episode, I think I need more time. I think I do actually like Rhaenyra executing Otto, just because it adds an interesting spin on the bloody footprints leading to the throne. I read fire and blood with the understanding that it's biased AF against women in positions of power, so they would try to paint it as if the blood came from the throne cutting her, whereas in this version of canon it's the blood of her enemies. The twist of Otto being in the black cells the entire time was even cool, Larys is the lord confessor those dungeons are HIS charge, and his loyalty is so up in the air that it makes sense he would try to play both sides. I like that too. The music still slaps. I love the chemistry between Baela and Alyn. I even see the vision with Rhaena, despite my misgivings. That said, I disliked a lot of things about this episode too, the pacing feels weird, Thorne betraying Alicent didn't hit for me, and I HATED the SA scene. The ONE thing I gave HotD even as my opinion of it is dropping is that unlike GoT it didn't add sexual violence for no reason. The scene of Alicent laying helpless under Viserys in season one served a purpose and it hit HARD. What on earth was the point of Ironrod assaulting Alicent? To justify his execution??? Not only is that incredibly freaking lazy, to the blacks he's a traitor, that's all the reason we need as an audience to understand why he has to die. Seriously. Why.

Hailey “Beloved” Robeson

I love the fact that another most major injury that Aemond has gotten was from another Strong son...

I actually was considering making a replica of the tapestry, I used to be a tailor and I love doing embroidery. I might still, it's gorgeous, this episode got me heated tho so idk I gotta calm down first lol

heisenbewg

"ser criston finally finished his arts and crafts" I CAN'T

heisenbewg

aemond's silk press this season is EATING SO HARD. giving fairy elf goddess realness he don't got ethics he got AESTHETICS 😭

Deandre r Swift

I can't take anything in this show seriously anymore. I will once again reemphasize the point that both the Queens have spent more of their life as enemies than they ever did as friends.

Tylor

I’m watching them for the first time with you as well so this was just as shocking to me as it was you. Honestly for the ending I completely agree with daemons choices. The game of thrones world is gruesome. It sucks. But that’s just what it is. Alicent would’ve either seen her dad or son dead one way or the other so🤷🏻‍♂️ im genuinely shocked they showed her getting the throne, I was expecting a cliff hanger with that lol
