Hello, loved saving private Ryan, however as a historian i also want to direct your attention to a inspiring time to come out of WW2. A guy by the name of Desmond Doss. A -conscientious objector - in WW2 who served as a combat medic. What I mean by that is there is an amazing movie called "Hacksaw Ridge" about this guy who went through the war and never touched or fired a single gun nor took anybodies life and got the Medal of Honor for what he ended up doing. I wont say no more for spoilers, but that is the basics premise. Its one of the best True stores of WW2 out there. "Hacksaw Ridge (2016) Would love if you watched it for the channel! As a little side note: My grandfather is featured in the film at the end, he was saved by Doss during the war. This is film my family and I hold close to the heart, we got invited to production of this film a couple times and it and it was awe inspiring the whole way. You as a historian will LOVE this film, and it would mean a lot to see you watch this masterpiece.

Hi, i came here because i found your reactions on youtube and i like yout reactions very much so i want to see the reactions in full lenght. But now the film goes for about 4 minutes and then its blurred and i don't hear any sound from the film. I am german so i'm watching from germany. Is this why it's not showing up?

Gary Giaimo

Hey, Sheriff. For Copyright purposes, reactors cannot play the full movie along with their reaction. You need to watch along with your own copy of the film and sync it up when the reactor starts the movie. Hope this helps.

Sheriff

Thx, for your answer. This makes sense.

Patrick Toscano

Fun bit of trivia but Jeremy Davies who plays Corporal Upham also played Baldur in God of War 2018.

A top movie for me. Good reaction.

A big +1 for Glory (1989). Denzel Washington won his first Oscar.

I was just wondering if there is a way to share my I phone 15 to my tv ? But it's ok if not possible :)

sammy

Did the law changed ? Because last 2 awesome reactors i subscribed i can see the entire movie

Clay F

No. What those two reactors did is illegal.

Clay F

Yes, you can. You can cast from your iPhone to your TV.

That was Beautiful. Thank You for your genuineness. Thank You, Thank You. I was about to start Band of Brothers, but then realized, I gotta watch this first. I’ve fallen behind on your reactions. That’s life. I don’t know if you caught this moment in the film… When, General George C. Marshall, United States Army Chief of Staff is introduced and is informed about the Ryans, he is told… “All four of them were in the same company, in the 29th Division, but we split them up after the Sullivan brothers died on the Juneau.” The story of the Sullivan Brothers is a true one and was partly the inspiration for the story of Saving Private Ryan. The Sullivans were five brothers, from Iowa (same as Ryan), who joined the Navy after Pearl Harbor was attacked. All five of them served together on the USS Juneau. They had a family motto, “We Stick Together.” All five brothers were killed in action when the Juneau was sunk by Japanese torpedo, in the Battle of Guadalcanal, on November 13, 1942. It was because of the Sullivan brothers and other similar situations like the Borgstrom brothers (4 brothers who died over a 6 month period in 1944), that the Sole Survivor Policy was put in place in 1948. In 1944, a Hollywood biographical film was made about the Sullivan brothers, showing them as kids and growing up to their enlistment. If you’re ever interested in Classic films, film history or just a fun, heartwarming and beautiful story, please check out… The Fighting Sullivans (1944). The film is free on YouTube and here is the link if anyone is interested. https://youtu.be/rrMGco9TySs?si=fQQGLMqr94EhfSXD
