Okay, I need your help! I remember watching an exorcism movie in high school and in the shadows of the bedroom any time you paused we saw the outline of a demon (it kind of looked like the full silhouette of the one from this movie, but more shadowy outline versus being backlit) but I've searched and searched and THIS MOVIE DOESNT EXIST!!! Even worse, the people I watched it with don't remember that happening!!!!!! A lot of people have said Sinister (which is a great suggestion!), but that isn't what I'm thinking of and I'm really starting to worry that I had a crazy fever dream about it!

Do any of you know what movie I'm talking about?! Maybe a sequel to this? Or a spin off exorcism movie that isn't part of this series?

On a side note, if you see me in the papers I probably ended up possessed by the demon haunting the shadows in my made up reality! hehe I'm scared!

Sorry Teegan. I wish I knew what movie you are talking about. I’ve only seen a couple of movies about exorcisms, this one being one of them. The others that I’ve seen are The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Conjuring, and Constantine. But its been awhile since I’ve seen any of those, and I don’t remember a scene like the one your describing in any of those. Do you know if it was based on a true story? That might help to narrow down the choices. Anyway, you said during The Sixth Sense and Train to Busan that you were hoping for scary movies given that Halloween is this week. You loved those movies, but they didn’t seem to satisfy the scare factor for you. Well, I’m sure this one certainly did! Can’t wait to see AND hear your reaction to this. If you’re looking for one more fright fest of movie for this week before Halloween passes, how about It (the 2017 version). One of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. Good luck with your search! Don’t let it drive you to the point of being possessed 😉

I think the movie you may be referring to is "The Conjuring" either way you should watch it. One of the best horror movies of modern cinema.

My other best guesses from around that time would be Last Exorcism, Haunting in Connecticut, Insidious, or Ouija.

Directors Cut. Well, that sucks.

There is no scene where the necklace is explicitly passed from Merrin to Karras; it's simply a visual cue that Karras is now taking on the same spiritual battle. Since Father Merrin is an experienced exorcist, his wearing the necklace early on foreshadows his involvement in the exorcism later in the film. You are like me. I always want all the answers. Great reaction.

Hi this is off subject but would you watch Dracula Untold it's a different take on Dracula but good what he does for his people and especially what he does for his wife and son and tries to protect them. Would like to see your reaction and thoughts on the movie it's a 2014 Dracula Untold

Okay, first thing's first...Paul Newman. Possibly the greatest actor of all time. So Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, the Sting, The Verdict, The Hustler, Nobody's Fool, Cool Hand Luke, and Slap Shot as a start. Any one of these if not all are definitely worth checking out.

Father Merrins origin story is shown in Exorcist : The Beginning which should answer some of your questions and provides a chilling look back in history. An excellent book on this is People of the Lie by M. Scott Peck. If you believe these things are possible ( I do ) it provides an excellent framework and explanation of how and why possession can happen. It is the only book in my life that I have ever closed up and put down once it got dark outside.
