I remember watching this movie in history class

Another long day at work. Another long drive home. Can’t wait to change into some sweats and settle in. Looks like I’ll be ending my night crying along with you.

I didn't have time to watch this whole reaction all the way through earlier, and I wasn't sure when I would have the time, so I skipped ahead to listen to your thoughts after the film. I wanted to say a few quick things before I forget, and then I'll watch the reaction. First, I was expecting this to be a hard watch, but my god, this was brutal. If it hurt this much just to watch your outro... Yikes. I Hope you're okay. Teague (I hope I have your name right. I don't see it that often), you mentioned that you wondered how Steven Spielberg made this movie without it destroying him. I heard a story once that may explain how. I don't know if it was for the whole time or just part of the time, but Spielberg has mentioned that this movie took such a toll on him that when Robin Williams heard about it, he started calling him every night after the filming was done, and for fifteen minutes, he would do comedic routines to cheer him up. Either Spielberg or John Williams (he did the music for this movie as well as Jaws, Jurassic Park, E.T., ect) have talked about when Spielberg asked Williams to compose the music for Schindler's List. When the director asked, Williams told him, "You need a better composer for a movie like that," and Spielberg said, "I know, but they're all dead." *Deep breath* Okay. Let's do this.

A very heavy film. But an important one. A film I believe everyone should watch at least once. That was a very heartfelt reaction. But I worry a little for your mental well being sometimes. You’ve been reacting to some heavy films. And you said you were going to reacting to Band of Brothers and Fury. Both are great. And I would love to see you react to them. But maybe mix in some lighter fare as well And don’t worry about doing an outro every time. Some films, one doesn’t really need to say anything

As a Jew I’ve never been able to watch this movie so I’m going to be skipping this one. I’ll watch the your summary on YouTube. Sorry I just can’t do it.

Dan M

Teegan, I love your channel, and I will do what I can to support its growth going forward. I’ve watched several of your reactions more than once, both the full reactions and the YouTube edits, but I don’t think I can watch this reaction again. I can’t watch you again in agony like you were throughout this movie. I was really concerned for you…I just wanted to give you a hug. But I’m sure as soon as you closed out your outro, you ran to your daughter and found comfort and solace with her in your arms.

THANKSGIVING MOVIE POLL: Son in Law 1993? What say thee?

Eddie Perkins

I was happy to see that this movie didn't upset you. I was starting to tear up just watching you—great film and reaction.

SplinterTME

I love your reactions but I’m gonna have to skip this one. I’ve seen it and I don’t feel like breaking down crying again. I am glad you watched it though. See you on the next reaction.

Heartfelt reaction. You did good. Tough watch. Arguably a duty as a citizen of the world is to watch this movie, which is still relevant today in that autocratic fascists filled with nationalist racist hate still exist. We can never let our guard down. Schindler's List is #8 on the American Film Institute (AFI) Top 100 movies all time. Schindler's List won 7 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director (Spielberg). Spielberg said shooting Schindler's List was deeply emotional for him, as the subject matter forced him to confront elements of his childhood, such as the antisemitism he faced. He was one of many crew members who could not force themselves to watch during the shooting of the scene where aging Jews are forced to run naked while being selected by Nazi doctors to go to Auschwitz. Spielberg on his emotional state during filming: "I was hit in the face with my personal life. My upbringing. My Jewishness. The stories my grandparents told me about the Shoah. And Jewish life came pouring back into my heart. I cried all the time." The girl in red was 3 years old at the time of filming. Spielberg asked her not to watch the film until she was 18, but she watched it when she was 11, and says she was "horrified". Upon seeing the film again as an adult, she was proud of the role she played.

Greetings from Germany - I have watched this film so many times, and I still cry every single time. Unfortunately, humanity seems to forget its history far too quickly. In America, a repeat offender gets elected, and in Germany, the AfD is gaining more and more votes – I weep for this world and feel completely out of place here.

Luke Ferrara

Don't listen to the lies. Repeat offender? WTF are you talking about? Shut your mouth when you don't know what the hell you're talkng about

Hey Luke! I understand that everyone has different political opinions, but I ask that you keep it cordial when speaking to fellow community members. Civil discourse and disagreement is fine, but please do not attack other members. Thanks for understanding!

After that disastrous oval office meeting with zelensky, its safe to say that america has fallen and everyone is live at it on the internet.

We watched this film in history class (in the UK) just after it came out. It should be required viewing in every school for the older students. Sadly the signs are this might happening again, but in the US this time. History is so important, and shouldn't be ignored. Thank you for reacting to this film.

Eric Alzen

i know this is an old comment, but i decided to rewatch this movie again today, with her reaction. anyway, we watched this in high school back in around 2009-2011 here in Minnesota, US. i agree with you, it should be required all over the world.
