Hey everybody,I had some leftover footage from my previous crossword video. I choose not to include the footage because the camera quit recording during the session.
After thinking about it, I decided the footage, though incomplete, still needed to be shown. The footage is of a new pen that I was not intending to ever show in a video. The crossword puzzle turned out to be a really easy one and took far less time than my crosswords usually take.
In an effort to extend the crossword video length to an hour, I reached for the new pen to fill some time. I think you'll like the pen and I only wished the camera had not stopped recording.Additionally, when I previewed the finished video I was shocked by how bad the audio was. I could not figure out why is sounded so terrible. That's when I discovered that Youtube was fouling things up again, this time it was in the form of a default setting in their video player. It's called "Stable Volume" and unless you disable it, Youtube will boost all the quieter passages, thus removing all the dynamic range that I worked hard to achieve.
I disabled Stable Volume in the player settings while watching it, and the difference was night and day. I can't help but wonder how many people have been watching my content with the audio all jacked up like that. I was so disappointed to learn that was going on. I guess I'm going to have to mention it in all my future videos. This is almost as bad as the time Youtube took it upon themselves to plop down mid-roll ads in all my hundreds of videos...I still have not completely dug my way out from under that fiasco yet.
Oh well, enough venting LOL. Please enjoy this video. A word or warning though, it might make you sleepy. Thank you for your patronage:)
