If you noticed, the flashback shows Edo – Yoshiwara (the district where this arc takes place) and then fast-forwards to the same district under the name Tokyo. Edo was the city’s old name until it was renamed Tokyo in the late 1800s, which means Daki lived for at least a hundred years or more. This also coincides with the peak era of oiran culture during Edo/Tokugawa-period Japan (1603–1868). Also, the cover names for Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are Sumiko, Zenko, and Inoko. Many Japanese girl names end with “-ko,” which literally means “child,” but in this context refers to a young girl. Zenko and Inoko are fairly self-explanatory, whereas my guess for Sumiko is that it comes from “sumi” (charcoal), which makes sense given that Tanjiro’s family worked with coal.
