One of my favourite descriptions of chainsaw man is the fact it’s exactly what it sounds like and also nothing at all. When you hear chainsaw man you expect high octane action and gore, while you do get that it’s also a deeply emotional story about human trauma and how they react and develop to devastating situations. Banger reaction Steph! Can’t wait till the next

Katana guy actually said to shoot denji's heart unlike snake girl who said not to shoot there. Big difference is because Katana guy's just like denji, but he got stabbed in the heart earlier by aki (or maybe some time before) so he knows it still doesnt kill them. So shooting denji's heart would be the quickest way to 'kill' him during that fightt.

YES perfectly put! I had zero clue it would be this emotional tbh 😭😭 I really like the effortless combination of deep themes and then just pure shounen gore LOL

Makima seems calm, calculating, ruthless, and most of all, effective. I'm simping for her now.

The thing about their world is that its a messed up world where devils exists. Like Denji being a young boy living in this world, Himeno is one as well, and both of them works in this fucked up job that only exists because devils exists. While Denji is now an anomaly with devil powers, Himeno is just a normal person. Like her mentor said to her, the only reason people in this job lasts long is because they're insane, or try to be, Himeno is trying to be.

It's MS. MAKIMA. Let us never forget that fact. And I can sort of forgive, not condone, Himeno for trying to s3x0r up Denji. She was basically drunk off her arse. In addition, she knows her life amounts to essentially killing devils until she ultimately dies. Never mind her also knowing that everyone she works with will also probably meet that fate as well. Essentially she knows her life, and that of her colleagues, is on a short timer. Also, and I believe you mentioned this, she was probably lowkey jealous of the fact that even Denji fell for MS. MAKIMA. So considering Himeno likes Aki I figure that was her way of saying "F U!!!" to MS MAKIMA. Lastly, considering Kishibe's words to her about having to be a "little nuts" to do this kind of work and survive probably explains why she didn't really care about smoking or getting black drunk on top of influencing her to make a move on Denji.

Goshozono (who directed S2-S3 of JJK) directed this episode of CSM. I just kinda knew. The directing and art approach here is just unique and wonderful. That whole opening might feel uncomfortable but happened mostly because Himeno was SO drunk and you can just feel how lonely she is, plus the underlying bitterness she holds against Makima, a lot of her emotions are being laid bare. (To answer the one question asked: She’s in her mid-20’s, I think – not super-old but legally too old for Denji and even Aki is young for her.) This was kinda the episode that gut-punched me, not necessarily with the train shooting (I kinda love how they sneak the gun barrel into the scene but if you’re not paying attention, you’d miss it), but with Himeno’s sacrifice that ends up feeling entirely futile anyway. It’s not even the thought of what happened to her, but visually how it was handled a piece at a time. The whole fight sequence itself is unsettling, and that just kind of tops it off, with only what is left behind. I can’t imagine how it could have hit harder than it did, and it kind of lends even more pain and meaninglessness to what we experienced watching her the night before. This is where all the suits will end up, whether it’s a slow erosion or just one big loss – it feels so depressing and inevitable.
