Wonder Of You

I think diavolo has the worst fate out of any villain I couldn't imagine dying over and over again forever 😭. also can't wait to see your reaction to stone ocean I honestly think it's one of the most bizarre parts no pun intended

You have blessed my morning coffee with something to watch thank you🙏 However for today rather then a fun fact ill do some fun understanding of diavolo’s enternal punishment. For as long as diavolo lived his life being able to see fate with his stand, skip past it and avoid outcomes he didnt like. As punishment for avoiding fate he is now denied to ever reach it. Instead of experiencing only what benefits him now he only experiences the horrible outcomes his obsession with control has left him in a state of no control over anything whatsoever. Glad to see another part coming to an end and i cant wait to see you react to part 6.

Fernando Aguja

I was able to see this one in time... What a great Italian adventure! A hug to the sleeping slaves of destiny, and greetings to you, Steph. What will you continue with? Rohan's ovas, or Stone Ocean?

1ts_Neo

what a wonderful journey its been fr

Novu

Also in the new opening giorno does dio’s infamous over the shoulder pose✌️

Babi Ketjap

It's such an interesting fate for Diavolo. He will never reach the truth of how he died. He will experience every possible way to die again and again in an infinite loop. He will never get his satisfaction.

ZombieKi11er

As George Joestar said in the first episode of Phantom Blood, “Perhaps it’s fate…” I think it’s a good time to bring up the theme of fate in Jojos and how we still have another part to watch. What could it possibly lead to? I took the time this week to rewatch part 1. To remember that these parts came from the consequences or the “curse” of the Joestar bloodline. And how they are trapped in a feud with a dead man (Dio) and are suffering from his actions. I guess I wonder how, after 5 parts, have they not broke it and how after part 3, after Dios death, is there still more to deal with. Perhaps it is fate. Also (side note) I bought A Johnathan Joestar and Dio Brando figure which also inspired me to watch part 1.

Handynummer

Diavolo really got the worst ending. Like yeah he was a dickhead, murderer and drug kingpin, but compared to most other JoJo villains? Pretty mild. So him having one of, if not the, arguably worst ending out there is wild. Also I love how Abacchio literally has a stand that can show past happening but Bruno sends the idiot who can shoot good to investigate the mysterious death lol

Petey Poo

I highly recommend watching RDC's review of Golden Wind on YouTube (titled: "MARK EXPLAINS HOW PEAK GOLDEN WIND IS W/ CITED SOURCES!"). He finished watching this arc a few days ago. It's just a recommendation to watch at your leisure should you so wish, but even the first few minutes are easy guaranteed entertainment (no reaction stream needed). Love your reactions. Stone Ocean will certainly be something.

PsychoHelmet

I think the translation for GER's stats are a bit off, afaik they aren't a mystery, rather the stat wheel translates to "none" for each one, which is even scarier lol

Novu

And lastly the table at the very end has a zipper, abbachios favorite wine(i think) and the flowers giorno grew on narrancia

Babi Ketjap

ALSO interesting about "Rolling Stones" is that it predicts the fated death of a person and follows said person until it touches them (which kills them peacefully). Bruno was fated to die earlier, which is why the stone followed him but due to Mista's intervention Bruno got to live a while longer at the cost of Abacchio and Narancia (which is why they also appeared on the stone afterwards). So Mista kinda caused their deaths, but fate decided it was the proper way to go which caused Giorno to eventually win. Very complex stuff lol

Critical

Because Buccaletti survived this encounter with Rolling Stones, he met Giorno and betrayed the organization which set everything else in motion leading to Narancia's and Abachio's deaths.

Gyro_GoGo_Zeppeli

"I pray that they are sleeping slaves, and when they wake, they will have fulfilled some purpose." The theme of fate in Part 5 isn't about escaping fate, it's about facing it head on and persevering despite the odds, just because fate tells you that you're headed for a bad ending does not mean that your life should mean nothing. "We are all slaves of fate. In the end, not even they could change its form." Scolippi even says that despite Mista's interference, they didn't change the form of the rock, now he doesn't say this in a sense that they changed nothing, because Mista did change the rock somewhat, but in the end, Bruno still dies, what's already written can't be changed, but their deaths served purpose to let Giorno win. We are all sleeping slaves to fate.

Gyro_GoGo_Zeppeli

So remember in Episode 5? It's a very blink and you'll miss it scene because it was Giorno having an inner monologue. In the background, Fugo was talking about "a certain someone ruining their last vehicle" and Mista getting upset because there was nothing he could've done. It was referring to this scene lol, that's an anime-only addition.

ZamNoExam

Infinite deathyomi—he essentially has died every single way; therefore, if you check the various meme deaths people create, those are essentially canon. That's a crazy way to go, but then again, he did kill a lot of people or have a lot of people killed for his pride and ideals. Karma hits back and will continue to hit. We had Kars turning to stone for eternity in space, Dio being disintegrated, Kira being run over by a truck and then being taken by the spirits, and now Diavolo's never-ending adventurous deaths. I think the top 2 worst ways to go out of all of them are Kars and Kira, but then again, they all deserve their ends. And yep, the Rolling Stones really were crucial; if they hadn't intervened and accepted death + time, it would have just been Mama Bruno to pass on, but now it was the other 2, so Mista knew that Bruno would die at some point along the way. Mista would not have died the same as Scollopi, as it was not yet his time as determined by Fate. Fate is a crazy, frightful but welcoming thing. If you try to defy fate, things may occur; whether they are positive or negative shall be seen. Instead, welcome it and accept fate as well as have our ends, and that's okay. The ones who are still around shall continue the fallen's will and live on for them, not wallowing in sadness but living on in the brightness. However, we each have the right to shape our own lives and utilize our resolve to do great things and maybe rid our streets of drugs and become a mob boss at 15. THAT'S CRAZY, like dang, Giorno, a literal kid doing all this. Wow, what a phenomenal part. Glad I could rewatch YIPPPEE, a fun watch before the start of the weekend. YAYA. THANKS FAVE ENEMY Stand has to be Notorious BIG, life after death Part 6 here we come, yippee! Thanks for the part 5 Italy tour, Steph. Solid reactions and top-notch analyses as usual. YAY POLNAREFF, A GHOST, with his turtle buddy and together they are Turtlereff

Alex Jobson

diavolo died infinite times, he’s still dying. any scenario you can think of diavolo died that way LOL

Alex Jobson

can’t wait for part 6!!!

Axel Vincendeau

If you want to know a bit more about what happens after the end of this part there is a spinoff light novel called "Purple Haze Feedback" set 6 month after Diavolo's death where Fugo is task by Giorno to dismantle the Passione's narcotics team to prove his loyalty. It's a very cool story and not very long to read but i don't know if there is an official english version

Kaiser Roll

Still by far the weakest part of jojos for me, but by no means bad. But now we finally get to go on to stone ocean baby!

WerruzoSama888

Think back to that moment Jonathan first attained the power of Hamon and his natural affinity allowed flowers to bloom on the tree branches he touched. That part of him lived on in Giorno. Giorno is certainly the most outright biblically thematic of his entire bloodline. The literal son of God (Dio) surrounding himself with sinners and inspiring themselves to redeem their souls by challenging the Devil and his evil self destructive temptations. The human spirit is beautiful. It's not the perfect story but its straight up one of my favorite parts of the series. Glad you enjoyed.

Petey Poo

So death by snu-snu too then I see 🤔

Alex Jobson

idk what that is but yeah

Petey Poo

+1 I'm here already clenching my buttcheeks waiting for it to start

Brie&Apples

Small detail at the end, the three items on the cabinet represent the people who died throughout this journey; Bruno's zippers, Abacchio's favorite drink, and the flowers Giorno left growing on Narancia's body, and Coco Jumbo holding Polnareff's soul.

Jay rellim

imo diavolo got way too strict a punishment for being a mafia boss who also was in control of selling cocaine lmao his end was worse than kars or dio who likely would have taken over the world or at least major countries.

Brie&Apples

I can't wait for the Florida Woman arc, see you in part 6!

Jay rellim

kars' isnt as bad as diavolo bc he eventually stopped thinking. diavolo feels constant pain and turmoil and is aware of it... basically how ppl might describe being in hell lol eternal torture

Rothwyr

I might be reading it wrong but I've always thought that Rolling Stone also gives a more concrete explanation for how Bruno clings onto life after his first encounter with King Crimson, it just wasn't his time to die. Tho it could also be more spiritual and his resolve kept him going because he still had to protect his crew and Trish. Super looking forward to part 6!

hello there

When they showed that last shot of Giorno at the colosseum, they played a bit of OST from Part 3 when Jotaro was smiling on the plane. Both groups really went on a similar journey.

ZamNoExam

Yep true he did stop thinking and had a sort of peace whereas Diavolo who's name is the devil in Italian is now in a constant endless hell

Kitex

A lot of people hate on the part 5 ending for ending the part with Rolling Stones but I think it is a beautiful representation of fate also I can’t wait for the part 6 reactions it’s easily my favorite part

lola

"and mista is his right hand man i'm assuming......or his lover" AHAHA i vote the latter i vote the latter. but wow, david productions did an amazing job with part 5 from the osts, the beautiful animation, and to the sound effects ofc. i'm so excited for part 6, your analysis and appreciation for jojos always makes me happy Steph :))

lola

i love that parallel betwen jonathan and giorno. giorno encapsulates both of his fathers' serenity and characteristics so well

lola

YES i also agree that a meet up between jotaro, koichi, turtleneff and giorno would be so interesting but hilarious. Them all having different pieces of lore about the entire giorno situation would just be so funny.... like polnareff informing jotaro on all of the diavolo-arrow malarky, a situation graciously solved by giorno, only for it to be bulldozed by a "he's dio's son btw!". That sort of situation reminds me of this scene from the jojos eyes of heaven game where the bucci gang meet polnareff from part 3 (a whole lot of time travel weirdness in that game) and they all just go "ah I recognise you, you're polnareff, the turtle guy right?" and polnareff just gets increasingly more alarmed as they continue. I found the clip and it makes me laugh https://youtu.be/zq5vuwE5OOQ?si=r7l9T2vK4JiwXoiz

Shadow

Excited for Part 6!

STONE OCEAN TIME

My favorite enemy stand was probably Grateful Dead because of it's design and just how much aura Prosciutto has. Metallica too is absolutely insane and Risotto is like a top 3 character of this part. Little Feet and Man in the Mirror and their users also grew on me more after rewatching part 5. I love the sleeping slaves arc and it feels really weird to have this prologue at the end that works so well. The music as well when Scolippi speaks about Mista and and the gang hits so hard. Also the story isn't entirely over for part 5. There's a spin off light novel called Purple Haze Feedback that follows Fugo a few months after the events of part 5 and it's finally getting it's first English release soon. But it's not written by Araki so it's technically not canon but it doesn't really change from the past. The next JoJo is one of my favorites. While Joseph is my absolute goat, 2nd is probably a tie between Josuke from part 4 and Jolyne. Part 6 has even more of my favorite jobros(and they have my favorite jobro themes), stands, and it has my favorite main villain so far.

Arthur

part 6!!!!!

Theophrastus Bombast

I'm so ready for Part 6 :3 Personally, it's probably my second favorite of the first 6.

astralman

That was really nice at the beginning, it's nice to see a highlight of interaction, most reactors don't bother with that. I'm glad you noticed Scolippi's "vine headband". Looking back the imagery and parallels of part 5, it lines up. It's based on Christ's crown of thorns and the imagery continues with Mista shooting one hole each for his hands. A nice touch for a character that serves to tie all the themes together in a nice bow. Also, of course, Giorno being a parallel of Jesus and Diavolo being the parallel for Satan, we get to see Giorno cast Diavolo into an eternal Hell to complete the religious motif of the part. While it's true that an editor talked Araki out of making Giorno a woman, and it would be interesting to know if any other changes would exist in that version, I guess I can't complain since if that had happened then who knows if we'd get Jolyne in part 6. If that's the case, than I'd consider that deal a bargain, can't wait to see what you think of Jolyne! White Album was so insane, straight up freezing so much at once they could barely keep up. There's so many strong stands, it's tough though, all these fights are so intense and creative. . Araki said, since there's nowhere for him to put it in the story, is that Trish decided not to get involved in gang business after that, and went on to become a popular popstar across all of Europe. I'm not sure what else to say, I love this story and the next one too. They really became a good one-two punch for this phase of JoJo's.

it is such a blessing to be able to watch a steph upload after school and rehearsal, ESPECIALLY when it’s a finale🥹!! i cannot believe we are this far, but i am so happy that you are enjoying it, and i am beyond thankful for you allowing me to come along with you on your jojo’s journey ^^ these episodes are so beautifully done in my opinion. from giorno’s dio pose to the religious symbolism, i just feel as though all of the details are so well thought out and executed. the infinite death loop is insane, and the theming of fate is such a perfect way to end the part. you truly don’t realize just how much it was there all along! i really do enjoy this ending for trish, giorno, and mista, and it was refreshing to see some happiness within them before their return to the colosseum. i did notice that some other people have recommended it, but i do think that you should read purple haze feedback! while it is not written by araki, he has drawn art for it, and i think it is a beautiful story zooming in on fugo and his life after he leaves. i hope you consider reading it in your own time! with all that being said… its time for part 6!! ahh, my excitement for stone ocean is infinite! i am so ready for you to meet jolyne and experience so much girl power🩷 a top three part, a top three jojo, and a beautiful story about the strength of memories and hope. is there truly any way for a jojo to escape their fate? you will certainly find out ;) once again, thank you for sharing your journey with us, steph. please stay healthy and well, & i’ll see you next time <3

Roderykz Al

If I undesrstand correctly, he nulified his willpower. So, him killing giorno is bound to happen, it has to. but for it to happen diavolo must arrive to him and punch him. requiem nullified every inch of willpower in diavolo's body. So he's trapped in a never ending sequence of deads, because his body and mind can't die until he fulfills his destiny, but since he doesnt have any will power he will never arrive netiher to giorno nor to death.

Edmund

excited for stone ocean anybody

Otaku Steph

Otaku Steph

Maybe Araki hated Diavolo for being too overpowered the most HAHA 😎 LOOL that is v true actually. Maybe he just wanted a cute, bonding car ride with him

Otaku Steph

O LOL. Very intimidating indeed 😂😂

Otaku Steph

NO BABI NOOOOOO!! SO HE DID CAUSE THEIR DEATHS AAHHH MY HEART 😭😭 BUT without Bruno surviving, who knows if Trish wouldve survived, if they end up getting the arrow etc. fate sure is cruel bloody hell 💔

Otaku Steph

It almost feels like a trade off - they had to be sacrificed in order to secure Diavolo’s defeat 😞 very similar to the fate of the JoBros in previous Parts

Otaku Steph

OH HAHAHAHA 😂😂 what a fun little detail LOL those two forever bickering

Otaku Steph

YIPPIIIEE thank YOU for watching and supporting Zam! Notorious BIG is a v good choice - his Kraken form lives in my head rent free LOL

Otaku Steph

OOO SHIT YES THANK YOU FOR THE RECOMMENDATION I WILL DEFFO FIND IT WOOOO

Babi Ketjap

Yes! If Bruno died, they wouldn't have met Giorno and Passione would've continued on...

Kart3rbroder (aka John)

"Nuh uh" is actually the worst way to Describe Giorno's ability. Giorno's ability doesn't Cancel out your attacks, it makes sure it never happens in the first place. Forever putting you into a Loop where you will never reach the Truth of your Actions. Your actions still exist, but you cannot reach it.

Fernando Aguja

My Gosh, I look forward to your reactions sis... Stone Ocean is my favorite part and Jolyne is my favorite Jojo, she's fantastic. And the plot of Stone Ocean, I assure you, is... Too special. I hope you love it. Here's the info we have so far: SBR will start with a 47-minute episode and will have weekly episodes.

ZombieKi11er

I was thinking about getting theirs but I opted for posable ones. More expensive but I’m very pleased with them.

JPJohnnypowers

So comes another part finale, made some great memories and friends. From Leaky Luka to Koichi saying hello to the betrayal to the golden succ to Sex Pistols Requiem (the beretta, old meme from the community) to finally achieving G.E.R (Gold Experience Requiem.) Gonna miss Italy and Giorno, now we enter Part 6. My second favorite part just behind Part 4. Fun Fact, Rolling Stones appears in the first opening of Fighting Gold. Just barely hidden in the background. A small reminder that this was all fated to happen.

Blindf

Actually, the question mark in the ability stats isn't quite accurate; the Japanese text says "none." I feel that would better convey the mystery and power of Requiem, and it's also cooler, haha.

Axel Vincendeau

Tell us what you thought of it it would be interesting to have your opinion imo

JeanJean

Was a fun journey. David Production delivered some of the best animation in all of Jojo thus far. That being said, rewatching this through your reactions also confirmed many of the shortcomings I thought the arc had on my first read and first watch. While being a similar journey type part as part 3, It just never reached the same heights as stardust crusaders. The final fight is the weakest out of all parts. The villain has literally the coolest stand design and Doppio is great but Diavolo himself is not amazing and the stakes are not as high as in part 3. Giorno was not as fleshed out a character as the previous Jojos. It feels like Araki had no precise idea of where to go with him. He's this ace character like Jotaro and also acts like support but he has no negative traits unlike previous Jojos which makes him come across as bland. The other characters have issues too I liked Bruno but a little too serious and lacks any negative character trait not unlike Giorno. Narancia is the second best character, really liked him, I did not enjoy the way he was killed off and I think the character had more potential than what Araki did with him. Trish is ok but lacks good characterization. ironically the more interesting moment she has is when she acts like a diva at the beginning. But then she just goes to being a scared victim most of the time until she has this Koichi-type development. Not a big fan of the treatment. Fugo and Abacchio, well there's practically nothing to say about them since they barely had any moments to shine. it feels like they were written for a specific purpose (Fugo was initially meant to betray the gang and fight them instead of Ciocolatta but it got retconned out of the story) and Abacchio has a stand made for investigation and not fights, but since fights are like 80% of Jojo well that means we practically never see him in action. The one character I'll remember is probably Mista. Fun, smart, interesting. Positive and negative character traits, got to appear in a lot of fights. Just an all-around great character. In terms of bonds in part 3, every character got to interact with each other a lot of times. Part 4 had some decent amount of that too. But in part 5 the only really interesting interactions I can recall were those between Mista and Giorno. Abacchio and Giorno's little feud lead nowhere, Fugo and Narancia seemed to have a special bond but Araki didn't expand on it any further and Narancia and Trish's bond came out of nowhere for me, it seemed to serve more as an excuse for Narancia to betray the boss more than anything. Maybe just me but I'm also just not a sucker for flashbacks for characterization, especially in Jojo. Unfortunately for me and fortunately for those who do appreciate them, there'll be a lot of that in Jojo from here on out. I wish the fights had put more emphasis on characterization instead of doing that for the antagonists. It did that for Abacchio and Giorno in the beginning and then with Mista and Giorno, which were great. But it needed more imo. What else...the drugs thing, not that interesting, barely touched upon. The only thing the story has for itself is the symbolism but otherwise everything just feels like an excuse for a journey and a villain with fights more than anything. I just wish the story had shown something more about Giorno, something that weaved him a little more into the storyline. The mafia setting was cool but just like the drugs, it barely meant anything story wise. The big issue for me is that Araki does not stray from his monster of the week format. And while I did appreciate this structure in the 2 previous parts I'd have appreciated a return to an arc based format. Unfortunately I think this monster of the week format is just too convenient for Araki since it enables him to write episodically rather than to plan everything right from the start. Hard to blame him but it does hurt what he's trying to do imo. it's easy to make the reader feel like he's watching a road trip plot or a detective-thriller-mystery type of arc with this structure, but a mafia story? Not that much.

Gabriel Macedo

Oh shih that's me! Lol Yeah that was the crew's "changing point". If Bucciarati had touched the stone. He would die in peace. But that also means he wouldn't investigate Luca's case and wouldn't have met Giorno. So part 5 would have never happened and they wouldn't have died. But, as Bruno said. They needed that. They needed to be "reborn" by this journey. They would have longer lives but way less satisfying ones. Giorno's dream changed them all. Their deaths gave them peace and changed the status quo. Saved many lives and futures. Their work had meaning, instead of living longer and dying rich like any other lowlife criminal. So don't look in this "Mista actions killed them" angle. But in a "Mista actions changed their lifes for the better and genuinely changed a decent part of italy for the better". Oh i forgot to mention. But remember when the crew was introduced and Mista freaked out about the sliced in 4 strawberry cake? So, in that scene you can see abbachio grabbing the first slice. And well.. you know. Mista warned him lol. On the last scene. Some interesting details about the ending. By Polnareff's side we have. One of the flowers Giorno used to cover Narancia's body. A golden zipper and a bottle of Abbachio's favorite wine. So Giorno has a tribute to his fallen friends near his throne. And no Polnareff's probably doesn't know Giorno is Dio's son lmao. I think he would freak out. We don't know if he ever contacted Jotaro again. But if he did, that would be a hell of a conversation. -Hey bro how you doing? How's career? -oh yk, i became a marine biologist. And you? -High leveled Gangstar at italy -Uh... right.. well changing subjects, since you're in italy. I should warn you, me and my associates found out Dio had a son and apparently he's a part of a big Italian crime organization -What?? Where? What's his name? i can contact my boss to deal with his case -Giorno Giovanna, in naples. 15 years old. -Yeah, him. He can help us find the target... wait how did you know my boss's name? Are you stalking me? -...

Salinia Townsend

Not sure if you mentioned reading manga but there’s a little spin-off titled Purple Haze feed back! It basically revolves around Fugo and it briefly mentions what’s happens to the surviving gang after part 5!

Robert Collard

Obviously Roundabout is the most well known JoJo ending but the final version of Modern Crusaders with all the stands will be my favorite ending of a JoJo episode. Rolling Stone (those who know JoJo knew what that stone was at the beginning) turning into Bucciarati and then it showing all the enemy stands to fall, then we get Purple Haze with its head down in shame for not joining the group. Then we get the four stands that fell to King Crimson (Moody Blues, Aerosmith, Chariot Requiem and finally Sticky Fingers) Finally, while he desperately clings on to Spice Girl, King Crimson is able to fend off Sex Pistols before falling to the might of Gold Experience Requiem. Also despite only being in one episode I find Scolippi to be a fascinating character. The man who doesn’t want anyone to die but knows it has to happen because in JoJo, try as you might you can’t fight fate and you cannot cheat your death at the end. His speech about sleeping slaves and realizing that while Bruno living led to the death of three people, their deaths have to not be in vain is beautiful. I love Golden Wind , though DiU and Steel Ball Run are my absolute favorite parts overall. Goodbye Italy, hello Florida.

eeeeeeeeeeeeee

Are you thinking of watching the Rohan OVAs at some point?

Victor Casado

truly this was our gold experience

J. Alexander Guynn the Fridge

Through rewatching Part 5 thanks to your wonderfully entertaining reaction to it, I can finally put to words how I feel regarding its characters. Throughout all of JoJo, there are a number of characters who could be called “paragons.” Jonathan was the gentlemanly paragon which all his descendants can be compared to. Jotaro is the stoic, dedicated paragon whose sense of justice and fury has influenced everyone around him. I could go on and on about the two Zeppeli’s, and all sorts of other characters who serve as pillars to be admired and followed. But Bucciarati is something special, a paragon of virtue, honor, and dignity that honestly doesn’t have a comparison. The perfect paragon to fit the world of Part 5… one who takes similar qualities from other honorable characters from previous parts, and elevates it with the sort of writing that Part 1 or 2 Araki simply wasn’t capable of creating (not yet at least). Bruno lived a short life filled with violence and the worst side of society, but he died like a true and proper saint.

Petey Poo

Its a meme type concept where it's death by repeated seggs with many women
