Imagine being Okabe though. The fate of the world is pretty much resting on your shoulders and you are too terrified to move, because if you do you will probably end up breaking the very delicate state of the world that keeps Mayuri alive. I feel like it's pretty realistic that he would distance himself from Mayuri, since looking at her has to remind him of Kurisu and her sacrifice every single time. Hard to fault him for trying to move forward with his life, but it feels like this attempt at creating some form of normalcy simply has to fail. It's just not possible for him, unless they do succeed at preventing WW3 and basically keep all of these shadowy organisations from rising to power.
