we saw xaver in s3 ep 20 and 21. in 20 grisha and fay ran into him while escaping Liberio and in 21 he was holding zeke as zeke gave his parents up

After watching AoT and rewatching through you reactions, I gotta say some of Erwin's quotes aged like fine wine. In S1 he asked Eren "What do you see? Who is the real enemy?" and in s3 he told Pixis "humanity will fight until there is only one or less human left alive". I'm starting to suspect he read the manga and knew all the spoilers

yeah tom and zeke's relationship is sweet and loving but imagine affirming a young teenager "yeah we should have never be born, i agree you should force your ideology onto every eldian and change their bodies". part of me thinks tom sought out zeke and groomed him subtly (even if the love he gave zeke was genuine) after recognizing the lack of support he had from his real parents. as a fellow eldian, he never approached the parents nor tried to help zeke foster a proper relationship with them. he just wanted his dead son back in the form of zeke

Lets goooo! Some of my fav episodes on my birthday 😁 These completely changed my opinions on Zeke, and made him one of my fav characters. 9:29 Grisha’s VA is so damn good. Gives me shivers every time I hear him scream like that.

surely dina and grisha could have kept having more and more kids to maximise the royal bloodline 😭? i mean at that time i wouldn’t put it past them. but it’s funny how the non-royal child grisha had was exactly the kind of son he wanted zeke to be— he literally killed two grown men at 9 years old, and wanted endlessly to fight for freedom

I do love the twist that Zeke didn't randomly turn in his parents, he truly loved them and wanted to keep everyone alive, but by that point they were too far gone and he could do nothing for him, so he had to save whoever he could.

We know how driven Grisha was before he came to Paradis, and then how much he regretted it (when he talked with Eren Kruger). But it is a lot for a poor kid. I had been hating on Zeke for all the terrible things he did in S2-S3, but in this season we get a more complete grasp of his life story and no matter where one falls, we can at least understand – and there are very human feelings in Zeke, especially the desire to be loved and accepted by his parents just as himself. Marley has been sculpting kids into warriors for many years now, but Grisha and Dina also tried to sculpt their son into a weapon (of rebellion) and it damaged him, even if they meant well. Lol, Zeke’s always had a knack for throwing balls. It translated directly into throwing rocks as a titan. Doesn’t it suck to feel joy that Zeke found something he could do well, yet at the same time still remembering what he did to Erwin and the Scouts? (That is AoT for you!) Xaver definitely is the only person in Zeke’s life who asks nothing of him but just seems to like spending time with him (although we do find out that in part it’s to fill the shoes of his own lost son). That was a great observation about how Xaver (in Marley) had the same spirit of curiosity as Erwin (in Paradis) – why do we all keep fighting wars when there are things we all have in common, if we just looked? Zeke is a hero in his mind and it’s easy now to understand his reasoning – he actually wants to achieve the admirable goal of alleviating the suffering of his people and those he loves. And he’s trying to be a good big brother by saving Eren from Grisha’s influence. The philosopher Schopenhauer said life was just a cycle of unmet desires, pointless striving, and endless suffering without fulfillment, and Zeke is viewing life in that vein – better to end all of that useless pain and disappointment. I see the problem with Zeke’s process is that it overlooks any chance for joy or hope even when suffering occurs, and he’s not giving people a chance to find their own purpose.

I love Pieck so much too. Pieck and Armin are two of the sneakiest characters on the show, lol – you can’t trust either of them. Did you like how Pieck showed Porco she’s chained to Gabi (pretending she was just waving to the boys), so he knew she couldn’t transform and he’d have to protect them both? Lara Tybur (Willy's sister) was the warhammer titan.

I think Armin started crying after hearing Yelena explain the euthanasia plan because, after Jean said Eren must have a reason for acting that way, Armin realized something that might have given him hope that it was true.

What's really good about your 13:45 reaction is that it is completely different from your reaction to season 3's episode 20 at 47:10 where you said "How does this not make you want to rise up?" and "This isn't how society should be." At what cost do people rise up? And here is a fraction of it. AoT makes us go through so many changes and nuances.

I think AoT has done a really good job of making its female characters stand out as competent, including Sasha who could have just come off as a joke character, and manage to make them and the male characters actually stand in the story as equals. Compared to a ton of other anime where half the time they are just fan service or fairly one dimensional.
