I’ve got the AOT OSTs downloaded onto my phone (Spotify), as well as most of the voice songs (Barricades, DOA, Bauklotze, Call Your Name, etc.) in my faves lists... (I’ve got another few songs maybe people don’t remember as well, like the GV of Call Your Name and So Ist Es Immer, from the OVAs. I love this music.) I mean, I think for shows and films, music gives the story soul, and that’s how this music function – it just embodies and accentuates all the spirit and emotion inherent in this story and is another reason it all feels so epic. This was one of the first anime I watched, and I ended up watching some other anime shortly after JUST because Sawano had done music for it, lol. He was the selling point for me. So the bit that you said seemed to embody hope, Steph, I’m pretty sure that was a cue both for when Eren and Mikasa face down Dina (“I’ll always wrap your scarf around you – forever and ever!”) and also a gentler version at the very end when we see Grisha holding baby Eren and say, “Eren – you’re free...” It’s funny how songs become intertwined with story points and visual images, but that’s just how it works. I can’t really pick one that I like most, because every cue I try to choose, I’m reminded of the next… and the next. It’s just a wonderful OST. I know Sawano was inspired by Hans Zimmer, and I can see how that filtered into his work although it’s all uniquely his own.

Just wanted to let you know there were actually 2 OP/ED you missed out on during your initial AOT reaction. The first was “Under The Tree” which was in you OP reaction video but skipped out on due to spoilery imagery. The second was the final ED “Itterasshai.” As you know the final “episode” was a very long movie-esque type deal, however when it was rebroadcasted it aired as normal 20 minute episodes with their own OP and ED. The OP “The Last Titan” was in the big OP reaction you did, and the ED for those episodes was “Itterasshai.” Would love if you were able to do a ED reaction like you did for the OP’s and maybe even a revisiting of the OP’s now with fuller context. I would highly recommend the full versions of the songs with English lyrics just for a bit of that extra content, but TV size would be awesome as well.

The Attack Titan! 6:45 MY SOLDIERS RAGE! 7:50 Levi being chased by Kenny 11:20 No matter how many times I listen to it all I can see is the Colossal and Armoured titans emerging on top of the wall 13:30 Sasha facing the titan with the bow and arrow to save Kaya and also Mikasa's speech to Eren after Hannes' death 16:00 Bertholdt's resolute final transformation in Shiganshina I've watched every reaction to this suite I can find and yours has been the most entertaining by far! Thank you for helping me enjoy my favourite show all over again!

I went to see the Attack on Titan - Beyond the Walls World Tour last year in London, and its as good as you would imagine, highly recommend going if they ever come back to an area near you.

Yesss, Sawano, the GOAT of all GOATs!! He also composed the music for the video game Xenoblade Chronicles X, and it is also SO good and very AoT coded. Highly recommend listening if you need more Sawano in your life! The song Uncontrollable and Theme X from that game are some of my favorites! I think the emotion that Sawano captures so perfectly for me is melancholic hope, if that makes any sense at all.
