Orihime's backstory got censored in the anime in comparison to the manga. In the manga they weren't stricte abandoned by their parents - it was worse. Their dad was an alcoholic and mother a prostitute who beat her children whenever they cried. That's why her brother ultimately took Orihime and escaped with her, being afraid that their parents might one day kill her. This censorship kinda makes it harder to read her character, because it's the root of her self-sacrificial nature and not wanting to cause problems to other. Similarly, in the manga she had long hair in the past too and her brother always praised her hair. However, Orihime was bullied at school for her unusual hair color and had them forcibly cut by the bullies. But because she didn't want to worry her brother, she lied to him that "she just felt like changing style".

There are animated omakes after the end credits, but they start from Episode 14 onwards and there are sometimes breaks between them.

I’m reading the manga and watching the anime both for the first time along with you & I did NOT expect Bleach to make me so emotional for multiple episode so early on 🥲

Otaku Steph

I’m genuinely so sad they omitted those details. Exactly as you have said, it adds to her character, explaining why she is the way she is. Thank you for providing this context. Makes me love her even more than I already do

Otaku Steph

Why thank u very much for this very legal website

Otaku Steph

Hulu caries "White" otherwise known as Bleach in both the Dubbed and Subbed

Aitor Rosell Torralba

People underestimate the first introductory arc of Bleach, but it is emotional banger after emotional banger. It really sets the tone and the mood, and sets a standard of quality for the tragedy.
