Yee-haw! It's cowboys & dinosaurs time with the 1969 Ray Harryhausen movie "The Valley Of Gwangi"!

Fuck yeah! Been dying for another dinosaur movie

Purity

Ya it’s unfortunate it came out so late, this seems like a fun film. Nothing crazy or anything, and I wouldn’t put it as a top film of ray harryhausen. But it’s enjoyable, and of course the stop motion is as aways great. Fun review as aways, excited for the next one

Rincewind

lmao i remember watching this movie on fox as a kid back when they used to run marathons of movies on sunday, right next to throwing mama off the train. Alos brandon you don't need to defend ray, we all know he was KING when it came to any stop motion, even by todays standards his would stand up

Ben Caputo

Yet another of my wishlist films makes the cut. Good job Brandon!

Dako

Once again, his work looks better than some of the current movies, and all of the made for SyFy movies.

Philip Gonzalez

Filmed in CA I assume? Though actually some of this doesn’t look like it. Maybe out by Death Valley?

I do want to point out that The Beast of Hollow Mountain isn't actually based on O'Brien's original Gwangi story. It's actually based on a different story that was written by Willis O'Brien in 1955, which he sold to the Nassour Brothers. O'Brien tried to make different variations of the "cowboys and dinosaurs" story over the years and they sometimes get confused with each other. However, Gwangi, The Valley of the Mist, and The Beast of Hollow Mountain are still different projects, with the Valley of Gwangi only be based on the first one. Just wanted to clarify that.

Boobs & Blood

Wonder how this one compared at the box office to WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH that came out the following year?

Rob Jones

I have a certain fondness for later HH movies. I would love a review for Sinbad and the eye of the tiger. But who am I kidding? We all know Brandon would do Golden Voyage first. Cue "I'm a warrior of Love!"

Peter Charles Krug

Some films I want to see Brandon review: 1.King Kong (1976) 2.Gamera: Guardian Of The Universe

Galloe

That last one around 14:00 kind of reminds me of Tyrannosaurus Alan from back in the day, so movie quality.

Tony Chan

Anyone else smoke weed right before watching Brendan’s videos? I do!

Timothy Cook

The era when Westerns dominated cinema is before my time, but my limited knowledge has it having been over done and was buried by Blazing Saddles. It’s too bad, because I love the recent Old Henry movie.
