Tones vs. Textures (Patreon)

For the last couple weeks I've been figuring out the comic style for Willy, and it's been a lot of hard work! Enjoy the sneak peek!

I would like to try at least one comic in b&w, but I want it to be interesting to look at, so I'm trying tones (page 3) vs textures (page 4). They deliver similar results, and I thought I was going ahead with tones for a bit, but then I saw more and more examples of that moire effect when the tones bump up against thin lines, so I'm thinking I'll have to go ahead with more textured gradients. 

So now I need to expand my texture library and keep tweaking until it's perfect. I won't quit!
