Saturday night, I got an email letting me know that my account has been terminated. I tried to appeal the termination. They reviewed my appeal but decided to keep my account terminated. I am no longer selling content on Amazon.

I will be working hard to get lots of my content here to Patreon, and I will be publishing books somewhere else (I don't yet know where--any ideas?). I would love to put EVERYTHING here on Patreon, but I still need a way to bring in new Patreon supporters in order to keep things operating.

Please bear with me. This is a very disastrous blow. If anyone has any ideas how I could grow this Patreon page, please let me know, as I'm currently very afraid that I no longer have any reach. I'm hidden from Patreon's search feature because the content I produce is 18+. Some people lie to Patreon about what they make so they can be found in search, but I refuse to do that.

Also, if you buy eBooks from other websites, please let me know which.

OMG, did they bother to justify why they closed your account? That is so messed up!!!! I’m so sorry that this happened to you! Not sure if you have thought about Inkitt, but thats a pretty good site and allows for memberships that could help you out income wise.

krissy

screw amazon they're jerks anyways

Steven D Warble

Outrageous! Good luck finding a new venue for your writings.

What a bizarre decision. I assume it's due to the unauthorised republishing of your books, which they're choosing to see as a breach of contract even though it's something over which you have no control. The only other ebook publisher I buy from regularly is Google, and I suspect they don't do erotica. Kobo, Nook Press or Lulu may be options, although none have the reach of Amazon.

Nikki, Amazon sells the erotic works of so many other authors, that it's incomprehensible that they would do this to you. Here are some of the other venues that sell erotic ebooks: Apple, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, Smashwords, Rakuten, Indigo, Angus & Robertson, and Mondadori. If you can now sell your books through Patreon, please let us know. Another possibility would be to set up your own website and sell your books there; some of my favorite authors do that. I for one will gladly help support you.

Shame on them for not listening to reason and on amy for causing the trouble in the first place. Sorry you have to deal with this stress. As far as selling, I don't have a suggestion, but if you want to try to further your reach, you could think about posting some stories on Literotica. Something smaller, just to get your name out more, with a link here and hope people will come to support. Or much older works, broken into parts, you've got a significant backlog already. Your content is usually more romance/story focused than most stuff that gets posted there, but the most highly rated works are more similar to what you do.

That really sucks! And I was wondering if that happened. Tried to purchase one of your books and only saw the audio books listed. Some other 18+ authors I have bought from have their own webpage and post links to their content on Lulu.com and Itch.io Some examples are sixpacksite.com and blackshirtboy.com. The later also uses X (formerly Twitter to promote their work).

AJ Freeburg

I don't know of any policy for or against it, but I don't think they would care. I have seen other authors do it on both their profiles and in the comments of their stories.

From what I have read Amazon uses an automated systems and responses for almost everything. Also be carful as Patreon is starting to push this type of content off its platform as well.

Madtech01

Yeah but Lulu.com is starting to shut down accounts and store pages for 18+ content. There is a big push going on right now to shut down all 18+ content from PayPal, Patreon, Lulu.com, etc... Somebody is going after Adult content on the web hard.

Nikki, first check out Barnes and Noble self publishing (https://press.barnesandnoble.com) Blackwell’s another digital bookstore. And Apple Books is think could be the best, (here a link to how to on there- but apparently you can self publish through PAGES to apple Books too, you keep 70% of earning. B&N really worth it too. OMG i am so sorry Nikki! Effe Amazon! Palmetto publishing is another (idk if thats all digital though) LuLu also maybe an answer, they have their own bookstore and can publish to INGRAM (and Shopify and Amazon (maybe it could be a work around for your suspended account) https://www.lulu.com I have bought books off “good-reads” that open into iBooks (which is just “Books” now on apple’s iOS and OSx. A God I am so furious with amazon I am so sorry you are in the position! I honestly feel like writing Amazon and canceling my kindle unlimited subscription explaining exactly why! (Did they give you a reason? Of course if you’d prefer to not say, don’t. But i just don’t understand why? Is it bc that Amy person was pirating your books) (Self publishing is freedom, i get that. But Ever think about taking a try at a publisher? You already have such loyal fan base, i presume you would attract allot of legitimate interest from publishers?)

Aaron Frances

Yes I have read my share of stories there and I have seen authors talk about supporting them on Patreon and links

Subscribestar, instagram, and twitter, also possibly facebook to grow fanbase. I love your stories and characters. So mad at Amy and amazon, please know that your fans and readers will continue to support what and where you post. Thank you All for supporting a strong and amazing writer, go (only) fans ;) ...

Jamie

Nikki, thank you for producing another work despite Amazon. I will, and I'm sure most of your readers will, follow you wherever you decide to publish your great books.

nikkicrescent

And if you really do follow me where I publish, I will be forever grateful (and already am that you're here). It actually means so much to me...

Alana

Very Strange, I just got an email from Amazon Book Recommendations listing 3 of your books; The Afterschool Girl, The Coach's Pet, and Just Like Her Of course if I try to follow any of those links it takes me to "Sorry, we couldn't find that page"

Did they say why they closed your account seems unfair and not wright in my experience

Leonara

Nikki, I am so sorry that Amazon dropped your books.. I have a whole library of your stories.. I wish u the best . Please keep us informed when we can order your books..

Chita

😭 sorry to hear that, I've made the swap from kindle to kobo recently

ShoutFidgety

I'm really sad this happened. I have bought many of your Kindle ebooks on Amazon over the years. You have been on there a long time. Much luv <3

ShoutFidgety

I'm fine with it. Amazon has gotten too strict. I will start buying from your website and Alyson Belle website too. I lost faith in kindle now. Please keep up with domain renewals and security. I recommend upgrading to the highest possible ssl certificate or ssl wildcard. It's super expensive but worth it. You can message me for hosting recommendations and stuff.

nikkicrescent

Ah I don't even know what half those words mean! A little bit scared of the 'super expensive' part too. But it's something I need to look into!

Ray

Nikki, Amazon has been nothing but a problem for you over the past decade I would suggest Smashwords as a product sale venue Ray

I tried finding your books on Amazon today, and couldn't. That was just unacceptable, so I started searching for you, and that's who I found your Patreon. Now I'm a subscriber here. I wonder if there are more people like that. The only reason I didn't subscribe before is because I didn't know it existed. Fuck Amazon. You are better than they.
