🔨 Forging the Future #5 – Bringing the Unseen Onscreen (Patreon)

Celina Fans!
I’ve got another exciting workflow breakthrough to share, and this one solves a problem that’s been limiting scenes for awhile.
One challenge with AI animation has been introducing characters from off screen.
With traditional image-to-video generation, the model doesn’t know what a new character entering a scene is supposed to look like… which meant consistency could break instantly.
Because of that, I often had to be very strategic with what could be animated:
Framing around faces
Reducing clothing complexity for consistency
Making sure all characters were already visible at the start of a shot
It worked... but it was restrictive.
Now I’ve got a new workflow running that changes that.
Using a process where I feed the AI both a beginning frame and a final frame, it can generate all the motion in between while preserving coherence.
Combined with the image editing workflow I shared in Forging the Future #4, this opens up a much bigger toolbox.
This means I can now:
1. Use the Chroma text-to-image workflow as a flexible, robust, unfiltered image generator.
2. Use the image editing workflow to tweak character clothing, faces, and details for consistency.
3. Use that same editing workflow again to build a custom final frame.
4. Feed both first and final frames into the new workflow to generate coherent animation — including characters entering from off screen while maintaining their intended appearance.
That last part is huge.
It may sound technical, but creatively it means scenes can breathe in ways they couldn’t before.
To test it, I made a sample for you all:
I took an image from the recent Orc Feast update, added the guard into a new final frame, and animated the scene using this method.
The result:A character enters from off screen while staying visually consistent with the intended design.
Exactly the kind of thing I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

This kind of workflow experimentation is a big part of preparing for Celina’s Calling 2, and I’m always looking for ways to push what these scenes can do.
Let me know what you think of the sample — especially where you’d like to see this used.
And as always, thank you for helping me forge this strange world forward.
