tap water really depends on the region you're in, even within the same region! the tap water where i live tastes so bad, but the one at work some undisclosed amount of km away is okay but generally yes, if tap water is safe to drink at your location, try to drink more of it, it's legit the cheapest water you can get that's often better than store bought water (also thanks for the hydration reminder, i haven't sipped my water in like five hours, oops,,)

A friend that's from the UK and has lived in the NL came and tried an assortment of water here in Bulgaria and said that he sees why we have bottled water brand loyalty. In some countries it's not a noticeable difference while in other countries the difference is HUGE. And then the water from other places tastes like trash :D
