Wow. Ive practically watched all the great kdramas but i dropped this drama after episode 1. I'm not sure why though and I dont even remember what ep1 was but I will give it another try because this time Ill be watching it with you, familia. My daughter said she loves this kdrama. I guess now Ill find out why she loves it.

Lol i started watching and found out in less than 2 mins that this is a time travel theme so now i know why i dropped it. Haha. I dont like time travel themes which is also why i didnt vote for lovely runner coz i only watched that because my daughter loves it. I guess my daughter is into time travel and im not. But i will still try to watch it with you familia.

Im watching this first time with u Familia, 15:59 this reminded me of What Namjoon kept doin for BTS in the Early days. Can i say this... i jus recognised the DAds in Hwarang ;) Love The Coinciding of Life and Music. The Song he played reminded me of the Song Maroon 5 Memories

All I want to say is that the guy at the ice cream shop who ended up being chased by his grandmother is a popular actor in Korea. He plays in a lot of very popular K-dramas like Weak Hero (which in my opinion, is a master piece as well and worth watching). Also he has a certain acting style which leans more towards comedy when he portrays his characters. (basically he has way of being goofy on camera idk if im making sense)

I totally get your hesitation with time-travel themes! For me, it's mostly because they tend to get messy towards the end. They pile up complications and loopholes caused by the time travel itself, then throw in a "magic pill" in the end that supposedly fixes everything. It always feels a bit unsatisfying. BUT, here's what I'll say about Twinkling Watermelon: it uses time travel more as a plot device than as the core engine or backbone of the story. There are bits of the usual headache-inducing cause-and-effect in the story, but to me, it's not meant to be dissected too much. The magical element works more as a narrative tool to foster learning and character growth rather than something that we have to solve/analyze deeply. NO SPOILERS, but I can say that at the very least, the ending doesn't completely collapse under the weight of plot holes. :) Hope to watch with you until the end! :)

coming back to this right after rewatching switched at birth (SAB) the day before gives such a distinct vibe. i think SAB is aiming to educate hearing people about empowered independent deafies, while twinkling watermelon (TW) somewhat highlights the hardships; how the child of deaf adults (CODA) has to always take care of the deaf parents/sibling. maybe there is also a cultural factor, where independence and sense of pride is often more ingrained since young age in western countries(?) i think eastern cultures are more about humbleness and helping each other. (this is a quite interesting take, i will probably come back to this after some more research). i kinda wished TW took extraordinary attorney woo (WOO) path in highlighting to educate the audience to not see disabilities as an obstacle in life, or something that needs to be fixed/changed/hidden/be embarrassed of. nevertheless, its always interesting to see the perspective of the other side as well. i picked up some ASL from SAB like nice to meet you, thank you, please, sorry, yes/no/ok, worry, mom/dad/parents, awesome, slow down, help, want, clap, and of course i love you 🤟🏼; and just now i realized theyre so different from KSL. i dont know how am i going to use this knowledge, because the only time i met a deaf person is that one time i ordered food delivery and the driver was deaf, and i thank him in sign language. i just find sign language is a very fascinating one to learn.

Rewatching this with u guys for the 4th time 🤭 just a tip make sure you do pay attention to the characters names it’ll help a lot, one mistake I didn’t do on my first watch and confused myself hihi. Soo excited for this whole series I hope you’re ready for a good ride 🤣

Please watch JKs newest live, when there is subs. He plays Horror games 😅 it's a bit long but you can do it in parts, it's so fun, you get so invested in it, that you can't stop watching hahaha😄
