Welcome back to another weekend of k-dramas familia! 🫶✨

We're jumping into episode 3, right after the intense argument between Eun Gyeol and his dad. Eun Gyeol's secret passion for music finally came out, and it doesn't seem like he has his dads support. 😔

The episode ended with Eun-gyeol discovering a mysterious magical music studio. 🪄After stepping out, he was suddenly in 1995 and ran into Ha i-chan, his dad as a highschooler! And Ma-ju the ceo of the music agency.. 🫢

Apparently they were friends and were in a band together. 🎸The "Love Memory Manipulators" band that Yun Dong Jin, the godfather of the korean band-scene, mentioned in the future!! 🔮We're connecting dots familia! 🤔

But the most shocking part was that Eun-gyeol learned that his father could speak!

Question of the day: Who is your favorite musician?

lately ive been soooo into k-idol bands like day6 and xdinary heroes. i would recommend those two groups just in case you guys want to venture into other genre or other groups other than hybe in the future. im sure you’ve heard of the rose too, one of them featured in yoongi’s song, snooze.

Just in case you are still confused (this drama is meant to be confusing in the starting) but that ice-cream guy is actually Eun-Gyeol's dad...they are the same person...so starting the first ep there were 2 stories that were shown parallely....happening in two timelines...one was in 1995 (Eun-Gyeol's Dad/Ice-Cream Guy) and one in the present (Eun-Gyeol's) Also..his name is Ha Lee Chan..pronounced Ha EE Chan in Korean Also Familia, Netflix subs are very very off unfortunately...I would higly recommend changing to Viki since you will get translations to the songs too and better subs (mostly accurate)

My favorite k-band is Xdinary heroes. They are really good, I went to see them on tour this year and it was amazing. I would recommend their music, if you ever want to get into them I recommend Ashes to Ashes, Money on my mind, and Beautiful life. Hope you guys had a good thanksgiving 💜

If you love Kbands I recommend The Rose, Day6 and Cnblue they are my fav❤️❤️❤️I was lucky to see The Rose live in Minneapolis this yr and 2023 , the vocalist of the Rose is the one who had a collab with Suga

we didn't switch timelines 😊. the ice cream story was always happening in 1995. they were just showing us / audience parallely along with furture . but the ice cream guy , i mean the dad was always in 1995. the story we saw of him in ep 1 and 2 , was always happening in 1995 😊

Exactly right! They wanted the audience to see what his dad was doing /experiecing when he was the same age as Eun-gyeol! So the first scene at the ice cream shop was his dad and his first love (no spoiler).

TBH if you know more Korean culture it’s very easy to see that they were showing us 1995 , cause the teacher acting like that would not fly in 2025 Korea , and the cello girl is always riding in very old model cars, the school or the streets that’s the dad was shown in is with very past infrastructure so that’s why it might have been a bit confusing for foreigners

Shreya

Also the dads name can be spelled as Ha yi chan or Ha li chan in English it’s the same name in Korean so if your seeing the name differently don’t get confused

The Netflix subtitles didn’t translate it as well but in the bus scenes his dad actually asked if he could just comfortably talk to him and call him (his son) hyung bcz yoon dong Jin is actually older than dad and he kept calling his own son hyung in that scene lol but Netflix translated it as can I speak casually with you instead of the literal translation
