It's hard to choose a song because they're all so amazing, but I feel like do you and awakening are my favorites because I heard them a lot 😂 And It's so idk, amazing to see how RM and Mono are so different, because in RM he was so angry you know? Like since the debut he had a "identity crisis" because always was said to him that he was not hip hop anymore, that he was a idol now and it's different. But then in 2015 he finally came to himself and was like "I'm me, I'm not just hip hop, r&b or anything, I'm not just a idol, I'm me and you can't put a label on it"!! And this mixtape is this, he is angry, he wants to show himself, show his music!! You can see it, all the songs are different for one another, we have hip hop, heavy raps, even rock with "Throw away" so yeah, i really like this mixtape and i love to see how Namjoon changed through the years till Mono and probably his next mixtape will be different too!! That's who he is, he's not just this and that, he's everything! Sorry to the long comment, i was probably repetitive too haha, it's because I really love this mixtape and Joon's evolution! 💜 (Also english is not my first language so I'm sorry if it's confusing 😅)

Carol 💜

And your reaction to him cursing it's hilarious 😂😂 but I feel you guys, I'm here since 2016 (so unfortunately I heard this after too and not when it came out 😔) but I'm still not used to them cursing too lol, don't matter how much time I listen to it! I'm excited to see your reaction to Agust D and D-2 too 😂

PIDDI

BTS did a dance to the beat/melody of Throw away

laura

YES, I’m so glad you are doing their mixtapes as well. They work so hard on these, many people don’t realize. This mixtape is so underrated btw 😭 I’m so excited to watch

Carol 💜

Also família, bts danced to the instrumental of Throw away and in this video they put the RM "version" so if you wanna watch: https://youtu.be/bWwJxE8UzPU And there's this one, they did a lot of Performances including Throw away, cypher pt 2 and pt3, Monster and Do you, it was only the rap line, i think it was a rap concert idk can't remember but i will put a link to the Performance of Throw away here, unfortunately it's a fancam but it's really cool https://youtu.be/4vC3FN6ROcQ

BTSfan

This mixtape is my favorite and I'm glad you guys did it. This reaction video will be my favorite from now on. I don't think many ARMYs know RM mix tape. I hope many ARMYs will know this mix tape.

Sa'ad Khan

RM is a different animal when he gets in that zone

Navneet kaur

So “Something” and “Monterlude” are NOT part of this mixtape!? Why did I always think they were from RM mixtape? My whole life has been a lie😐 Btw loved the reaction familia💜

zaphyre

it’s so funny to watch you two giggle like little schoolgirls over Namjoon’s cursing LMAO

laura

your reaction to monster lmaooooooo 😂😂😂

Jungkookie

When RM said I'm bored because the kids aren't here HAHAHAHA, I remember Jin complaining how loud the maknae line is at their dorm during that time. Please watch this on ur own time familia hehe, or you can also react to it if you want that would be sooo funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnlehceM_Mo I can already here ur laughs

Jungkookie

I'm so excited for Suga's first Mixtape. He speaks real stuff too, u're gonna love it

Cristiana Sore

i loved this...also first time listening, with you. it was a an experience for me, getting to know his thoughts and feelings from that time, his growth not only as a human but also as an artist, his courage to talk about sensible topics and his deep thoughts for such a young age... i mean, how many of us would think about death in such a philosophical way, at that age? The idea or the reality of death hit me just 2-3 years ago, and i m 27 years old. To be able to cry and laugh listening to an album says a lot about the artist.. and its in korean. imagine knowing the language (someday*). I loved Mono, but this has a special place for me, being his first mixtape. Also, you guys were so cute and funny..i can t...i cried laughing. 💜 DO YOU FAMILIA

SNBangtan

It's tough because I always want to say RM is my favorite mixtape but I listen to Hope World every single day and I know D-2 will continue to grow on me more and more everyday and I already think it's a masterpiece. haha. But RM is full of songs that are just my style aesthetically. And God Rap is one of my favorite songs lyrically. I really love the revelation and self-empowerment of taking ownership over your life and embracing your own power and responsibility over your choices. I spent a lot of time meditating on that particular concept. Also, as an atheist (and someone who has been subject to a lot of disdain because of that fact) I can't stress enough how important it is to hear someone I admire so much be open and candid about having no religion. And it's just a song so there's creative liberties that may not be 100% reflective of his beliefs but that doesn't change the fact that hearing the message of this song felt really validating. Anyway, he obviously had a bit of a chip on his shoulder when writing this album and felt like he had something to prove (which he has moved on from and we see and hear in his more recent songs like Reflection and the entirety of Mono) but I really appreciate the emotion of these pieces. Anger, fatigue, desperation. It all feels very visceral. Agust-D had that same sort of eagerness in it. It's just very human. And I also think it shows off how much of a prodigy he is when it comes to rap. j-hope is my favorite rapper. But Namjoon might be the best technical rapper I've ever heard. He has such command of his flow and he flexes that control and agility all over this album. It's SO impressive. And this was 2015! He was like 21! Crazy. It really proves why he was so good that Bang PD saw him and was like "the world of music needs a band built around Kim Namjoon." Thank you for reacting to this!

Mishh 24

Me encantan vuestras reacciones!!! LOVE your reactions guys !!!! and I LOVE Namjoon soooo much

Joy

Thanks I've seen to many people skip this mixtape and go straight to mono. Whenever you get to mono it's such a different vibe. I love seeing how surprised you are when you hear him curse.😄 I really like I believe and I also love hearing the other members singing with him. Young Jimin's voice is so loud I can really hear him in it.😂

SNBangtan

I already left a long comment but I also wanted to add that I feel like RM and Mono were a total 180. It was reinvention. Agust-D and D-2 were more like an evolution--a similar feel but more developed. It makes me wonder what Hope World 2 will be like. j-hope is so versatile it might just be a separate entity entirely. I just love our rap line so much. They are all so individually exceptional at their crafts but they complement each other so well. Ugh. Incredible.

CJ

Let me introduce young ARMY to Joon's most iconic performance FT. Rapline :) AIR FORCE ONE - RM performed tracks from his first mixtape PLUS Cypher Pt.2 and 3 with rapline. ALL FORCE ONE was a hip hop music festival where Namjoon was one of the headlining artists. He had the opportunity to bring out anyone he wanted as a guest performer that night, a few people theorizing if it would be one of his MFBTY friends like Tiger JK. But nope, the boy said he was gonna represent and bought out the Rapline and Supreme boi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzQ9Z0RAQ8Q

Uthman's laugh is killing me😂 hope you're feeling better Marisol! Purple you familia💜

I'm so glad you reacted to RM's mixtape, I'm kinda scared and hesitant to actually learn and dig deep into the lyrics because I've known RM in Spring Day era so this is so different, and I'm glad i can watch it with you guys, I love and Respect Namjoon so much. He is such a lyrical and genius and he just continue to learn qnd learn. such an inspiration

AnnieRay

JOKE is my all time favorite! I actually have never heard of MONSTER but I was completely blown away! Thanks for the reaction guys!

Lynich Seang

All Right Uthman, Marisol And Namjoon you guys born in 1994. But What surprise me is Marisol's Birth date is the 12th, Uthman's Birth moth is September so Your Birth month, Date, and Year + together = Namjoon's Birthday September 12th 1994 😁💜

Emmy

Whew! This is also my first time digging deep in Namjoon's first mixtape and yep, I'm mindblown too. I've seen Joke before but I'm still a bit shook from reading the lyrics with you 😵😅 I do remember a comment I've read somewhere (youtube?) saying Joke is more of a word & rhythm play rap cause its for the haters saying he's a joke when he became an idol. And I just realized watching the MV with you that Namjoon played all the roles there, the officer, doctor who let the patient (also him) out so I interpreted it as him letting out the crazy monster inside him to prove all those haters wrong. Glad he got all these feelings out making his mixtape. And i felt that Life and Adrift are teasers for his next sound/vibe, Mono. Love watching this with you! Get well soon Marisol 💜💜💜

damla

familia when i first heard his mixtape i was also shook! thank u for this reaction and i swear i laughed so much bc everytime there was a curse word the way u guys just cracked up😂💜

damla

i admire namjoon for always being so brave, growing and learning! his songs are so different and u can tell how much effort he put into everything. also when the members visited him for the mv🥺💜

damla

DanielleM

Yay, I have loved going through BTS’s discography with you both! Thank you!

Amal

namjoon is the coolest guy I've ever known. My man had to deal with a lot at first: people who used to rap with him talking bs at his back, having to deal with a mental war to categorize yourself, working hard to prove you're good and a lot more. I feel this mixtape was to let all out and be free from all those negative thoughts. When you see namjoon nowaydays he looks a very calm person who is growing his bonsai tree, reading books, enjoying art and nature. He grew up so well!

Dottie

he surelyson is the leader for so many reasons. his intelligence, how he expresses his mind/stories, the skills he showed in this mixtap. I'm also glad you watched the members visting him, and yes so adorable each time they did their own solos, they never forgot to mention the others & how much they miss/love them. RM, Yoongi & Hobi's rapping skills/styles are so different but that's why they are the top group right? it's the varieties they show as each & every time.

MinSu

Hey, I hope you will read this familia. I believe that you need to react this You Quiz show that BTS came as guests, it's a very amazing content and I assure you will not want to miss it. It just came out today but the english subtitles will be out on 26th March and posted on theit Youtube Channel. They had really fun being guests there, and how happy they were to meet a lovely army, and more insights about their trainee life, family, ARMY etc. A 100-minutes show with BTS that you would not want to miss a second..

Kelllogg

please react to “you quiz” talk show !!

Hi familia! I thought someone would write this in the comments but i dont see any comment about the mindset of RM while making this mixtape. All the diss tracks in this mixtape are directed towards the fake hiphop warriors who looked down upon him as you already know. In korea, usually people think “hiphop” is this manly swaggy culture that disses, curses and criticizes everything. The misogynistic lyrics in this songs seem like overboard yet work as the most downgrading insult to throw at a misogynistic person. These haters of namjoon are very misogynistic and “macho” type, so for them, if joon says “ you are a pig”, they will just shrug it off. But if joon says “you act like a girl” it ticks all their nerves. And the usage “v*****” in the lyrics of “joke” is not about a woman instead he is saying the haters have a “v******” yet again a misogynistic insult for a misogynistic prick.

SKim

What I really love about following RM's music across the years is that you can really see where he was at and how he's grown as an artist, musician, and human being as he's gotten older. He's so honest and transparent in his lyrics and styles, it's amazing to see how much his music adapts alongside his life. Even from RM to mono, you can feel a transformation happening. It makes me so pumped to see what he brings next!

Muna

Okay I have just got around to watching this reaction and idk why no one has brought up yet the background of Joke. So basically underground rappers criticized namjoon for not rapping "properly" in BTS. Namjoon made Joke as a literal joke to those haters because the song itself is what they would concern "good" rap ie. fast rapping and garbage random lyrics that rhyme. So Joke is a joke to him and a slap in the face to those haters because he is mocking what they concern the best type of rap (whereas namjoon does a variety of different rapping styles). Literally I don't know why no one brought this up. This piece of information is veryyy important which is why the lyrics are how they are in the song.

SKim
>>56506718

It is included in the description from the translator they read before the song. But yes, important to know in what context he wrote the song. I think the translator's thoughts and reservations are still very valid, but you bring up a good point that the context provided is important to understand where he was coming from. Also, while not an excuse, we all know how much RM has grown and how much he respects women.

Kim Army

I love namjoon not because he's perfect but because he's someone who's honest about what he felt and not ashamed to show his past but also showing growth at the same time. I learn a lot from him as an artist and as a human. People around me perceived me as someone who's kind and joyful but they don't know I can think about the meanest thing in my mind when I'm hurt. I love his music because it gives me relieve, that I'm normal, that I'm human.

목소리는 제가 제일 좋아하는 남준이 곡이에요 많이 알려지지않아서 안타까웠는데 리액션해주니 반갑네요 참 벅차오르는 노래죠

Jera Lee

I wish you guys react to Mono too :D

Celine

they react to everything in order. So they will react to it eventually
