Long time no check in. What's up. (Patreon)

How's it going. (I sit backwards on a chair.)
I think it's going nicely, for the most part.
Here's a checkin for how things have been going on my end. The Aranea walkaround is going well. Here's some screenshots.
I'm trying a more angular style recently, inspired by a bunch of stuff. Most of all, it's inspired by Dowman Sayman comics like Melancholia and Oddman 11, which are difficult recommends.
Along with that, convincing Beforus writing takes a lot of leg work. That means I've done a lot of writing for things that don't necessarily make it into the comic directly. Maybe, as things go on some of that will make its way to the Patreon. That seems like a good place to keep all this Beforan ancestor shit, provided it doesn't make it into the comic proper.
I'm done saying "here's my target date" but godwilling and the creek don't rise, you know.
MORE STUFF:
I've been slowly poking at rewrites of the BDTH site. The current site is like wrought fucking iron. Taut SQLite skin stretched over PHP bone. The new version of the site is built with more modern tools, for a more modern mind. The beta site stack right now is this:
Flask + SQLAlchemy in the back
HTMX + _hyperscript + Tailwind CSS in the front
It's been kind of a delight to work with, honestly. When I make a more presentable devlog I'll be doing it on a companion's site: aregames.art, a nice forum for dev blogging and game dev work. If you're also a game dev, come hang out. It's a nice small site that I really like.
Coding is also time-consuming. Don't expect it soon. Code work is hard, but I'm sure this will result in a much more readable comic, as well as a bunch of tools to make actually making a comic easier. The hacky way that Chapter 3x3 got published will be no more, and I want to be able to compete with Homestuck Beyond Canon's cool site-bending tricks.
OTHER STUFF I'VE BEEN WORKING ON:
Project BREAK launched recently. Adelyn's been working like crazy on this, and I helped with getting the opening flash working. Easily one of the best in recent memory, perhaps of all time, though so little of that is because of me. It's all Adelyn. Read it!
CHORDIOID has a demo coming soon. This game is primarily Ash Taylor's baby, but I did some portrait work I'm really, really proud of for it, and the game itself slaps. Ash has, against all odds, done a really great job at rhythm game RPG combat. Keep your eyes peeled.
Overall: Lots of stuff! Not all of it is super postable! Such is the way of the world!
