November 2026 (early) Developer Log (Patreon)

Happy Halloween 🎃
I'm posting this month's devlog a little early. In the October devlog I said I'd be ready by Oct 28 (today) but it's gonna take me an extra week or two... so I wanted to provide everyone with a brief update. "Imaginary Numbers" v0.2 will be released on November 8 or 9It is a direct replacement and partial rework of Last Summer v0.1.
Roll D20
Most of the two story routes, Nathan and Mark, will remain the same, except it will be re-plotted to year 2016 to allow for cell phones (remember my brother's game?). One major plot element being added: as Kid Spencer, you will play some tabletop RPGs with Nathan :) I guess it was inevitable that my game(s) would morph into turn-based RPGs...
The RPG format will be primarily text-based, with some visuals for characters, dice, spells, and important events. I've talked about this before, but sticking with a text-based game really frees me up to further the plot and actually DO stuff... and it jives so much better with Twine.
It felt kind of bad to discard all my background art :( but this will ultimately be better and speed up the dev cycle. I know some of you prefer the immersion of full backgrounds.
Sugarcube Updates
I guess I'll never be done with my sugarcube template...
Building on the "engine" for Caprini BP, I fleshed out some pretty key stuff that'll give me some flexibility in the future. These include:
Dice rolling system with all standard D&D dice (D20, D12, D10, D8, D6, D4, and a coin) with customizable values, elements, mathematical functions...
Inventory system, based on ChapelIR's simple inventory (which allows for item shops and equipment!)
An actually working global time system
A (very rudimentary) cell phone system
The biggest change I made is, after reading a ton of Twine threads online, I've unified the code into a really clean object-oriented system, where pretty much everything is an object with a unique ID, properties, etc etc...
Art and Animation Updates
Some other animation updates and learning... before this I had pretty stiff poses where I would only change the eyes/mouth/eyebrows etc for a given head angle. This time around (after some advice from a japanese youtuber) I've been adding hands to some of the emotions... especially for Kid Spencer.
Unfortunately, just because of all the other updates that had to be made... this time around there will only be 8 new nsfw animations.
Next Month
Thank you for the continued support :) I've been able to reduce my real job's working hours a bit thanks to everyone. I'm going to re-publish my monthly earnings for transparency. I've been dedicating about 3 days a week to my projects, on weekends and weekdays.
After Imaginary Numbers v0.2, ill have two projects at their 0.2 patches :) It'll be a toss up on which one I continue in November... really depends on my mood.
