Theory, everyone including himself assumes he’s a werewolf but he’s actually a demon hound forced to kill for someone (or something) which is why he keeps seeing those pentagrams before transforming.

The lighting of the muzzle flash illuminating Holt is just so, so good And Holt's werewolf form is incredible, I love all the little design details where you can see the messy boundary between the two forms, like human upper teeth that almost look split over the muzzle as if it ruptured out from beneath the skull, or the smaller fingers poking out on the left hand. I could stare at it for hours dissecting all the various elements

Absolutely love how fucked up his werewolf form looks! The reveal is so good! I had to stare at it for a few minutes to look at all the details I've been wondering... is the werewolf still "Holt"? Is the creature Holt sees before he transforms an actual malicious entity or is it just Holt's mind trying to make sense of it all by turning the twisted/cursed part of himself into a separate entity? Feel free to be vague about it if it's meant to be up to interpretation c:
