"Above, the city wall cuts cleanly between two very different districts. On one side lie warehouses, modest homes, and practical little shops, their streets carrying the familiar smells of dust, timber, cooking fires, and animals. Beyond the wall, the city grows quieter and more refined, watched over by a small guard tower with access to the ramparts.

A neatly kept park sits nearby behind a tall green hedge, its benches shaded from the street and the soft splash of a fountain almost enough to drown out the distant clatter of carts and market voices. Yet scattered through both districts are iron manholes, easy to overlook until you realize they lead somewhere much less welcoming.

Below, the air turns cold, wet, and sour. Water trickles through narrow stone channels, footsteps echo far beyond where you can see, and every breath carries the stink of stagnant runoff and old masonry.

The sewers stretch beneath the wall above, offering a hidden route from one district to the other, but not an open one. Heavy iron grates bar the passages in several places, forcing anyone who hopes to slip beneath the city’s defenses to find a way through them. Somewhere ahead, water drips steadily in the darkness. What do you do?"

InnerGate consists of two 32×48 maps: the upper Streets level and the lower Sewers level. Together, they form a connected environment designed to support movement and interaction between both layers, while a variety of additional tiles lets you adapt the scene to different stories and encounters.

On the street level, three buildings include full interiors along with optional light sources and other scene elements. In the sewers below, extra tiles allow you to add tents, alter the environment, or replace the water with more dangerous alternatives such as acid or blood, giving you more flexibility when shaping the mood and progression of the adventure.
