Frieren is an S tier anime for sure. One of the best. This Anime is aestethic incarnate. Also the feels are present in almost every action- it's pure passion and a lot of people see it.

There is a reason why Frieren still on top after dethroning FMAB on MAL even tho other anime who tried got review bombed or fell off. Yeah maybe for new anime fans (mostly Covid)this looks "Ordinary", and that's fine because when I started watching anime, I too only watched Action/Shine only. But for people who already watched anime for a long time, tired of seeing the same Troupe on every genre, this is a breath of a new fresh air

frieren's main thematics is the flow of time (im sorry im not very good at english). how it's perceived, how things are forgotten, others are not (but in the end and through generations, people always forget, even the most brave actions). How sometimes 1% of your life (a trip somewhere, a little journey of a few months) can change and influence 100% of your life. How society evolves, landscapes, technology; And we are witnessing this with the eyes of a being that doesn't perceive time as we do. This is genius and so well done. Time cannot be mastered, but you can decide to grab these little moments, that pass with the blink of an eye, and remember them forever.

im absolutely loving your reactions to Frieren. I shared the same feelings! The artistry and heart poured into this story reaches out and pats you on the head and makes you feel like a joyful little kid. i've come to adore these characters and i cant wait to greet them like old friends when we get season 2. and you'll have lots of company if you cry because i sure did. that just means that you really get it, you're connecting with the story, and that's the best way to repay its creators.

i can understand that it may not be everyone's thing. you're right that it really takes its time. it focuses on the passage of time and how one should live to honor those they've lost. but the action is really well done when it happens. maybe give it another try when you're in the mood for something a little slower and sentimental.

No, I get that. I love sentimental shows that don't have too much action. This show reminded me a lot of Log Horizon, which I loved. But I don't know about this show, tough. I guess I'm not getting into the characters for some reason.

While true, that Fern can be impatient, because she misses the point, she is right to infer Frieren about time , she is human and hers is counted while Frieren's isn't, and it influences how she go about things, she could and have in the past spent 50 years roaming in a country side looking for a spell or a trinket , or 10 years in a city that has a good sugar production for all we know, but now that she travel with Fern she needs to be more in tune and conscious of human life. In theses ways both Fern and Frieren can be disconnected in their own way , and thus reveal some immaturity , they are the same .

I can't believe people are still having this argument bro. Sub enjoyers are always so mean about dub and dub enjoyers are always so defensive and selfish. If you see a channel only watching anime in subs, don't try to make them switch because you prefer it this way, there's no reason for the reactor to cater to the minority and antagonize the majority by watching dub. And when someone talks about dubs, just stop jumping at their throats as if dub is the most evil way to watch anime.

I mean, when the first 4 episodes came out, everyone were saying "it's so sad" or "it's a really slow show", so it's pretty understandable that Nick didn't think his audience would be there for it, which is why he wanted to watch it on his own time. Though as the anime developed I think people understood that it's not a sad anime that wants to make you cry every episode.
