This was one of the coolest, and scariest, things I’ve seen done in Anime

Fucking goosebumps

FIRE FORCE: 3x12 (UNCUT REACTION)

Bleach Calaminator

After this, you can tell David Productions is going to absolutely kill it and deliver with the finale of this series, and especially with JoJo’s Part 7: Steel Ball Run as the peak of entertainment media.

Condoriano

plss and thank you nick

Hxlo

I’m curious so I’m going to spoil myself to see what ur talking about

Josh

Yeah this brought it home I’ve enjoyed this season but ending here is perfect.

Hxlo

Yeah that was cool af I had serial experiments lain flashbacks that was peak🔥 I wonder if anyone knows what I’m talking about 😖

no-pool08

As a manga reader, this next cour has my favorite battle in all of shonen and I just hope the anime lives up to the hype of the manga for this next amazing and huge arc

Seth

This was the hypest I’ve been from anime since episode 8 of chainsaw man 🔥

nikq

i've watched a LOT of anime and read a LOT of manga but i've never felt such a strong brain explosion like when i first read those manga chapters... a plot twist comparable to AOT.... cour 2 will be even more fckng crazy mannn

Elbo

And now we wait for January

Nathan Coutts

Our world as it is now is the fireforce world before the cataclysm. It was the cataclysm that turned the world into the animated fireforce world. Trippy but it makes sense later on

Jsm

Captured the eerie-ness that I was looking for in uzumaki. They nailed the whole “you’re really not meant to be here and should leave immediately” vibe perfectly for such a short scene.

Joshua

Exactly, feels like he’s in his universe’s version of the backrooms haha

SibirPrizrak

i waited so long for this scene as a manga reader the adaption did not disapoint i can tell you it only gets better from here this arc is the absolute peak of fire force which is one of the most underated Shonen

Jsm

Now I kinda wish the evangelist or shinra’s first Adolla link felt like that. The constant feeling of being watched and an anxiety about being in the presence of something so “wrong” or “different” in a way you can’t comprehend.

SomeRandomHobo0

This episode was done so well reading these chapters had me freaked out and now with this music its ten times scarier but what a crazy cliff hanger

noah Brown

I read the manga. This scene and the next few scene after had me confused. Like you I've never seen real world adaptations in to anime before. The creator cooked with this one

Sinbad_Deity

He traveled to the past, the real world we saw is the past, not hard to grasp

RB01

Stuff life this has been done in a few anime before btw. Still a very unique scene tho.

Angelo

Any example of other anime that have done it? Closest thing I cms think of is Re creators where the whole concept is around fictional characters coming to the real world. But even that didn’t show the real world as realistic looking like this, nor was it meant to be a plot twist is just part of its concept.

RB01

End of Eva and SSSS Gridman had some live action thrown in i think. Surely theres more but cant remember/havent seen.

Tavis

This isn't breaking the Fourth Wall, it's rebuilding the Fourth Wall around the world as you know it. YOU are canon to Fire Force.

JHOES THEROK

I came for nicks reaction and I got what I wanted, they did this sooooo well as a manga reader !

Shane Dalton

I’m pretty sure the past was just 3d and after the cataclysm it basically became 2d

CaptainClux

Im wondering, how did they do this in the manga? Was it just a bunch of irl pictures?

Jin Moris

But you can interpret it in different ways. Either the world they’re in now is 2D anime or it was always real life, but the mangaka decided to use irl pictures instead of drawings.

Sinbad_Deity

I don't see any reason why the creator would show a distinct difference between the 2d world and the 3d real world, if they aren't separate. The 3d world is just the past of what is not the 2d world, which would make more sense later on.

JoshTs

That was shocking, I know it ain't real, but that really made my heart tremble.

Shaded

You know its hard for nick to grasp lol

Dark Inferno

Yea but not nearly as many pictures. And the shot of the eyes was 2 pages wide. Made it feel alot more unsettling for me. The anime did this whole bit very well

Popcorn

In Gintama there is also a moment we see real people, but that's more for comedy than a story-plot twist

Jalen Green

That ending right there just shows how underrated fire force is

Phoenix

Guys I made the mistake of watching this high

Mlx

last time i saw nick this silent for a long time was when he watched the nokotan opening
