Searching for the ones to blame isn't what this show is telling you btw, cause it seems you are hung up on that everytime you pause and explain your stance over and over again. Hating these characters won't change the core problem too and misses the point of the show. I guess the final episode will explain the message clearly, so that everyone understands it.

Just to clarify. Marina was takopis past. it happened in 2022. Thus the name of the episode. He went back in time to 2016 to kill shizuka. thus the name of the first episode. He lost his memory and didnt remember until shizuka tried to kill him. He escaped and went back to the meeting spot where Azuma found him at the end.

I read the short story and Its rare when i think an anime does a better job than the short story, I am not hating on the original piece. but this is taking ( an already great show ) turning it into a masterpiece, the direction here is very well done. I was afraid this last 2 episodes is going to feel rushed - and it was actually less rushed than the manga soo that made me happy. I wanted to spend more time with Marina and I'm glad we did. and I think 1 more episode is perfect for a condences storyline. I was skeptical and wanted a 10-episode show to 12. but I think 6 is actually perfect.

Why are yall so quick to hate on other peoples reactions and processing of the story. I understand where you’re coming from but allow him to finish the show and collect his thoughts about what has happened. I don’t know if you’ve read the manga, but it’s easier for people who have the whole picture to make sense of it. Also as a reaction channel it’s obvious that he will just say what comes to mind as he watches, which of course is going to be very surface level analysis. If you want to disagree with his perspective by all means that’s okay, but I think you need to understand all of his point of view once the story is completed, then you can make a comment that isn’t just insulting but constructive.

Is the episode title a reference to AoT's From You, 2000 years ago? Hahaha That said, now we have a relatively full picture. What will Takopi do? My opinion is that Takopi represents us, the audience, and challenges us to decide what happens. We initially took it upon "ourselves" to change Marina's past, but with the experiences of episodes 1-4, and with "Takopi" sat how it is at the end of episode 5, how will the story end? Very intrigued to see how this story wraps up.

I think the biggest message out of this show is everyone is a complex web of influences and personal decisions. Our personal decisions may be influenced by our circumstances, those around us, and their circumstances, but at the end of the day we have to take responsibility for our own actions. I don't disagree with your passionate reactions Nick. People watch a reaction channel to feel people's raw emotions when they are exposed to things that made them feel raw emotions. If people want a more realistic, nuanced take on the show and the issues it tackles, you aren't often to find that on a reaction video within seconds of the individual consuming the content. This type of stuff is the type that your brain has to chew on and think about for YEARS to come before you really understand it and can get everything of value out of it.

Something I also noticed this (might just be me) but the animation style shifted completely this episode. Going from a "older" style that had less fluidity, or more looseness, that was in the first 4 episodes, to the style now where it's much more fluid and coherent. I think the difference is that the first style is called "straight ahead" animation, where animatiors don't reread their drawing as much when they're animating scenes. Idk maybe this difference is used to heighten the intensity of specific scenes and also to portray the 2016, and it might come back for the finale.

I agree with you for the most part on Marina. She needs to be punished severely for her actions, but I don't think she deserved death. She wasn't even given a chance at a normal life. She doesn't know any better cause she's such a young child that she can't really be held fully responsible for her actions. So while she's definitely deserving of very strict punishment, it wouldn't mean anything unless she's removed from such a toxic environment. Honestly, if she was removed from that environment, I think Marina could be redeemed. Her parents though, deserve worse than death tbh. To do that to a child is beyond unforgivable. At least, that's my view on it.

No, he clearly understand that the kids are a product of their environment. He says he understands that. The disconnect for me is how that lines up to still blaming the kid. Punishing and blaming are not the same thing in this instance. Blame the parents, but still punish the kid so they learn its bad. I'm finding a hard time lining up the logic of blaming the kids the way you would an adult when he does clearly understand that it isn't their fault. How can you fully blame someone that doesn't and can't know better? I think thats what keeps me from being like "I just disagree." Instead I question how this conclusion is come to entirely, which is okay, but thats the disconnect.

SO basically , If Takopi didn't come to earth , Shizuka won't have succeeded in her suicide , and the timeline Marina , would be the same as when Takopi was with her first , so she would have killed her Mother and herself anyway. But because Takopi was first with Marina , he wanted to kill Shizuka so Marina life would be better (not really) , but because he lost his memory he went on to help Shizuka instead , but ended up killing her because the ribbon didn't break and made he suicide succeed , but because he had a picture of Shizuka he tried to help her , but it backfired because he couldn't , since Marina still harassed Shizuka and had her dog get killed (ofc he wasn't with dad lol) , but so he killed Marina that he wanted to help first :') fcking hell , witch didn't make Shizuka better but worse, because she became fcking evil after realizing it made her happy that marina was dead she wasn't shocked like the others in the way she felt relieved but it fucked her up and justified death , so now she wants Chappy at all cost she is willing to open up her dad's other girls LOL , and beat Takopi ... ????????????? that shit is wild AF , so what was Takopi real original sin ?? i mean takopi's Mom said it was because he came back to time travel and kill Shizuka , BUT , she doesn't have a concept of killing either , but she said he was corrupt and had sinned thus needed to be reborn and reset ? to be a newborn to be untainted so he would not be banned , witch he wasn't but his vessel broke .. ???? That said, you should seriously consider watching "Monster" It essentially tackles that core concept in which you discussed, but throughout an entire 74 episode run. Effectively challenging the viewer to interpret the multi-layered nuances of what differentiates a human and a monster; and how when push comes to shove, both states of being exist co-dependently -- shifting in and out of one's sub-consciousness, via psychologically influenced trauma and circumstance. (specifically in terms of the deliberate, deep-rooted indoctrination of children conducted by malicious adults... so yeah, extremely heavy shit) In other words... just imagine the psychological and emotional depth of Takopi, but extended by an additional 68 episodes, with a cast of characters 5 times the size. I suppose I should also mention, that as a series, Monster contains ZERO elements of supernatural or phantasmal intervention in its story. It's just raw human nature on full display. You'll witness the most sickening acts of evil, and the most inspiring acts of good battling tooth and nail against each other. Simply put, it is probably as close to objective perfection as a story can get. (along with Vinland and Berserk) With all that in mind, I promise you Nick, Monster is 100% worth your time. (and whether you watch it on camera or off camera, ultimately makes no difference) P.S. if you do choose to react to Monster and commit to uploading it, I would unironically upgrade to your Colossal Titan Tier for a whole year out of pure respect, lmao
