People flame this arc because, generally speaking, the rest of the show is so good that this weirdness sticks out like a sore thumb. Once you get into GGO and then Alicization things pick up tremendously

I honestly don't get people that suggested skipping, because this show is literally story built on story. It's not episodic, you can't just jump around and still expect to understand it all. If he skipped this arc, would he have any clue about how the world seed came about? Nope.

Kiritos transformation was one of the bosses from the first game thats why he was so op cuz that game is still the first game in the background so he truly transformed into a bosses monster.

2026-09-06 19:00 Hey if and once you are done with season 2 (GGO), the next thing to watch would be the Ordinal Scale movie which you can also find on crunchyroll (Has some characters you will see in later seasons), and then after that would be both Alicizations, then if you want some other stuff to watch you can watch the newer SAO progressive movies which show more of what happened in Sword Art Online (Game) If you were already told this then thats great! Otherwise just take this advice above

wouldnt there be still the mothers rosarya arc (the weakest in my Opinion) it still tied to alicization though

You need a really big connection to the characters and a sense of reality rather than the raging fights in anime to really truly enjoy Rosario. Its not the weakest if you can see the emotion they built in it. It's also crucial in war of underworld. And its has more character development for asuna which was honestly needed. They focused so much on kirito and whatnot for 3 arcs and the main characters gf was just there.

That arc is the 2nd half of season 2 so I didn't mention it, he was gonna watch it either way but yeah it is needed

As hype as it is, he was OP because he was already that strong - transformation only changed the body shape. I mean, his damage was enough to bring tanks to half health through their shields - same damage applied directly pass the shield would kill them. And that's what turning into a monster did - gave him an opening, a different angle to attack

You right it looked like he caused a bug but it was just his bugged stats that crossed over allowing for him to take advantage of the size difference even without his sword skills.
