Welcome to the landing page for Incidence, which is the renamed and hopefully pretty much final version of Tenebrism, book I of the Light & Shadow series. All chapters will have their own separate post but also be linked here as well so they're located in one place (and this post is pinned to my page). The first few chapters will be completely public, and then they'll move to being locked to patrons-only (not for pay, but just people who are signed up here).

I'm still experimenting with how to provide access to the chapters - currently, they are hosted on Cryptpad. This may change in the future depending on how difficult it is for people to actually access. I also don't know how often I'll be posting chapters - once a month is my dream goal, but we'll see!

And disclaimer in case you're new here: I do not and will never use generative AI in any format or function to do anything at all, but especially anything with writing. I like an em-dash and I was here first, so I'm gonna keep using them. I find what we colloquially call "AI" abhorrent and almost immoral to use, and simply won't.

One final note:

-this is (still) set in 2008. That'll become apparent later in text, but when I wrote it, that was contemporary. Now it doesn't feel right happening at any other time, but it does mean attitudes about certain things were actually extremely different. Just in case certain things seem dated...they are, on purpose.

So on this 16 year anniversary (OUCH) of when the first chapter of this story was ever posted, and the same day things in the story are occurring, please hopefully enjoy this new and last beginning!
