This chapter took for freaking ever, mostly because I rearranged a lot of it and split it half and moved some of it to a later part and then this part got extremely long anyway because I keep needing to add stuff for it to even slightly flow together. It's exceptionally wordy because it's NaNo and I'm not culling excess words and paragraphs out of there.I also have my computer back, but as the entire OS was reinstalled I no longer have Word, and my copy of it is in the other half of the state, and I can't make the damn PDFs without it. Everything is basically going wrong this month; trying to hang in there the best I can! I'm also writing four stories concurrently, all of which are are deadlines, so...super busy.Hope people enjoy this chapter! Stuff actually does happen even if there's just a lot of endless narration at the start.

Great story but please, please, for the love of Glob, update Tenebrism!!!! I'ma have an embelism if you don't update Tenebrism! I can already feel the blood in my brain clotting, so if you don't want me to die - update Tenebrism!

Unfortunately I'm not working on it right now; after the new year is probably the next time it'll update! I'm working mainly on this story and two stories that I'll be submitting for hopeful publication and they have priority right now. Doing stuff for money right now is my biggest worry because I'm in a terrible financial and general life situation, and Tenebrism has no chance of making me money any time soon.

Poor Kesuk! I was waiting for the women to catch him out and give him worse than the wolves, but I guess he got lucky (because I'm sure this isn't the end of his story, anyhow). I think this could be the best thing you've written yet (that I've read, anyway). It does flow, extremely well. You may have to come to terms with the idea that you're the type of author who writes long stories. But so visual, such stunning images with the forest and mountains, I could've read another two hours here, easily.

Yep, his story is definitely not over! The whole story is split between him and Sialuk. Thank you, I'm glad you're finding that it flows pretty well since when I do these NaNo things they are the draftiest drafts possible. It's going to get a bit weirder than this and have some elements that I usually never write into stories, so it's going to have some legitimate warnings later on.

I've read these two chapters in one breath - the story is very intriguing and vivid. What I really like about your writing is that it's completely immersing from the first sentences to the very last words. And since I'm interested in any culture/mythology and I know just basics about the Inuit culture, I've got much food for thought as well. And questions! About the nature of that disease and those black-eyed wolves (and their overlord) and magic and ... well, I'm certainly looking forward to reading more. Thank you for posting this!

Thank you, I'm really glad you're enjoying it even in this drafty form! This is a story I've been thinking about doing for several years so I have quite a lot of mythology and such saved up for it although I keep finding myself needing to stop and look new things up as I realize I don't know them (like what do they feed babies, for instance). I think I've ended up making a sort of fusion between different Inuit cultures from varying countries, at least in the language and names, if only because information is a little bit scarce online. And all your questions will probably be answered! The wolves and what's going on with that are a pretty important part of the story and part of why I chose two characters to focus on, so that a bigger picture of the world they're living in can be seen.

I read this chapter with trepidation, knowing that something was going to go wrong because of Kesuk's decision. That said, why is he alive? Because of the cloak dyed with Amarok blood? I guess I need to read on. :)

Teromain

Why he's alive/ignored by the wolves will come up, although not in any of the chapters posted yet. :)
