Ezede (Edo) camp (Patreon)

Bonus material~! So this is pretty relevant for the entire second half of Chiaroscuro - what the oenclar camp looks like. This is a rough map of the general layout, not exact, with basically the largest thoroughfares designated. I only did part of it because holy shit that's a lot of little tents (and 1 tent on this map =/= 1 actual tent, mostly). Also, this is where most of the story takes place, around in this area. There's obviously a little legend on the map but I'll talk about the numbers a little more here.
1. Council tent for the government. Biggest (blackest) tent, there's only one, and it's kind of the vanguard of the whole camp. It, and all the other tents in its section, face inward to oversee the rest of the camp.
2. Government tents. These are colored dark dark grey, and together with the council tent they replicate roughly the set up and function of the government buildings in Lojt, the oenclar's main city. This is where the last chapter pretty much took place, in one of these tents.
3. Clarjja tents. Brown tents belonging to the high-blooded elite members of the Warrior caste. The ones in the same section as the government tents generally belong to people in the government, and also the highest ranking military people. The ones in the sections facing the government tents are the rest of the clarjja, and they kind of get arranged by rank and family. Keyd's current tent is in this section (in the first row, on the right side a fair ways down from the government tents), when normally it would be in the more 'elite' section, but no one expected he'd even be in this camp ever at all so having his tent set up is a special allowance anyway.
4. Oulchen tents. The greyish blue tents that are a big mass in the middle. Oulchen soldiers are a large percentage of the army; not the biggest, but way more than clarjja. Their area is kind of the 'common' area of camps, because most people are allowed there and it's always a central area, plus the sahrame 'market' area is usually set up there and that's where allll soldiers go to buy/trade shit they need.
5. Forger tents. While regular metalsmiths and armorers in these camps are part of the sahrame class (a subcategory of the Warrior caste) and therefore would be in the light grey tents (8), the Forgers get their own special sections of camps, which are a dark purple. They work primarily and almost exclusively with the entities, actually forging them into weapons and armor. They used to be part of the sahrame class but broke off several hundred years ago when the current war started, and were allowed to do so because of the extreme specialization and skill that went into their craft, and even were designated as a high caste.
6. Healer tents. While not expected to be in high demand in a military camp that's not expecting to be attacked, Healers get their own area of camps also, in beige/tan tents. A lot of them would be personal family Healers to clarjja, but others would be the equivalent of army medics. If any scouting groups or actual battalions were sent out from this camp, a few Healers would go with them.
7. Keeper tents. There are usually far more Keeper tents (which are surprise! blue) than actual Keepers in these section of camps, and it's also the area where any guests or allies would be staying, since there are always empty ones. Keepers come and go frequently in military camps, but there's usually a core group of several who remain for the duration of the encampment, most importantly maintaining a logbook of e v e r t h i n g happening. The Healer, Forger, and Keeper sections of military camps are fairly small, overall.
8. Sahrame tents. Sahrame are the non-active military branch of the Warrior caste, the ones whose skills and industry go completely towards supporting the military, from tailors to cooks to horse breeders. Their grey tents are spread out everywhere throughout military camps, usually a large presence in the center as a kind of marketplace, and also near any sort of natural resources like water, in order to best utilize them. That diamond-shaped area in the middle is kind of like a marketplace, and it's also where Keyd and Alan and Rysa ran into Maedajon and All The Shit went down.
9. Patrol tents/maikaun tents. Maikaun are the lowest social group within the military, people who've come from the middle and low castes, and they make up the majority of the army. None of their giant section of the camp is seen here except the little block of patrol tents, which share the same color (dark green) as maikaun tents. Patrols are done by anyone instructed to, not only maikaun, and use these tents when they're on rotation. These patrol tents are all around the perimeters of the camp - even though these camps are not expecting attack, they do watch out for it.
The colors of the tents in this map are actually the color of the tents in the camp; the colors are pretty muted but they are all designated by these specific colors.
Also, Ezede is the local name of the general area of this valley and river, Edo is the name the oenclar call it by because it's hard for them to pronounce a 'z' and they rarely use local names anyway.
