Chapter Five

I know not many people are reading this story, so I apologize if this is not what you were wanting to read this month. But like I've said before, I deeply don't want to rush Incidence, so if I'm not at least 90% happy with a chapter, I don't want to post one. I feel like I already rushed last month's and need to fix it, so I didn't want to repeat that again!

I do hope people give this story a shot though eventually, as it's quite long so I'll be posting it as the 'in between' story for probably a big percentage of the L&S rewrites.

I’m definitely planning on reading this one. 😁 I remember the story from years ago and was planning on spending a day catching up on chapters I haven’t read yet. I’m so curious to see how it fits in with the rest of the lore I know from L&S.

Yooooo this is so hype, and I can feel some big twists coming to make it even crazier. Was it Enver who magic’d Yora while talking to the boss lady? She didn’t seem to be in control of the situation after his memory lapse(?) and it has me wondering if he said something to shake her in the time he doesn’t remember(?) or if she was also affected by the spell. Finding some way to delay the execution order without actually working against her feels like Enver’s MO, and if he’s more powerful than a clar (can teleport alone??? 👀) a “forget the last x minutes” spell doesn’t seem like a stretch and explains why Yora didn’t sense any of the magic doodads being used. I’m also really sad he’s gotta leave his home, but I still think he’ll be back (or they’ll come to him, maybe) at some point. There’s so little I understand yet in this story and I’m absolutely dying to find out more about all of it lmao, thank you for another awesome chapter!

Haha welcome back and the answer to everything is once again [[redacted]]. But you're definitely noticing all the stuff that's important to notice! And at this point it should be...kinda hard to totally have an understanding of what's going on, not in a confusing way but just in a 'there is no big picture visible yet' way - we are stuck with Yora's (unreliable??) narration and his perspective where he also can't see it, and a lot of the plot is literally trying to see it lmao

Also I reread incidence again and haven’t had time to write any chapter reviews or hop on the discord yet but that shit is chef’s kiss fr, Alan/Keyd’s nocturnal chats were already perfect in the prev versions but somehow you kept them perfect but added even more character exposition??? Incredible

ahah yay I'm glad you're enjoying them! they're kind of keystones for them developing ways of relating to each other so a lot of effort went into these conversations, not that writing them talking to each other is ever a chore
