I love Alan's whole inner monologue of how he's going to fight for Keyd. I like many of the elements of this chapter. It was a good place for exposition and a nice quiet moment before the storm. (At least that is my guess that there is going to be a storm :) I remember the original, so I doubt that Eldronrhet is going to say "ZOMG, I'm a fool. I'm calling off my crusade of make-Keyd-unhappy") Just the fact that Keyd really can't explain why what he did was wrong is telling.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! This was definitely a bit of a pause in things, especially since Alan and Keyd really need to get their relationship a little more stable and secure now that they're openly fighting for it, and since things are going down differently from the original and they haven't talked some of these things out yet. The pacing probably needs to be better since I wrote this in a pretty chunky broken up way, but maybe it reads better than I think it does!
