Light and Shadow PDF: Clarbach invasions (Patreon)

Probably the information in this PDF seems /really important/, like it should have been a huge deal in the story as a basis for the war and why it's even happening. And maybe it will be hinted at more in rewrites, but the fact is that the oenclar don't always know a lot of this information. So Alan can't know about it. And honestly the oenclar didn't care WHY the clarbach were doing what they were doing on other planets, they just had a huge vengeance vendetta against them and were honestly kind of looking for an excuse to go fight them (at least, at the start of the war) to get some catharsis about how their ancestors were treated. Obviously, it got out of hand. But that's their entire history - one side does something extreme, the other side overreacts, the first side retaliates, the other side does something extreme, rinse and repeat. They all need to look at their lives, look at their choices.
