Skiagraphia XIV: extended scene

Like a lot of my deleted/extended scenes are, this one includes a sex part! I mostly find it pointless to have repeated sex scenes in the main story unless they're actually advancing something, and maaaaaybe there'd be a case for this being relevant, but not with the story already at this crazy length. Though the conversation they have afterwards is more important, and will probably be worked into the rewrites.

I've read gay sex scenes written by professional gay writers that don't come across as well. How does an asexual writer end up writing such great sex scenes?

Good imagination? :) Also I try to focus on sensations and emotions more heavily than what's physically going where, so it's vague enough that people can kind of fill in their own details but also specific enough that it's obvious what's actually going /on/. I'm glad it comes across well though! I'm always so nervous about sex scenes ahaha

Thinking about it now, it is pretty cool when there is no word to describe something in a language, and someone has to come up with a new word or otherwise borrow it from another language. It's nice the Keepers get to figure it out but what about Earthlings? Now you have me wondering.. As for the sex itself.. the fact that Keyd and Alan wouldn't have even 69'ed (did I just make up that abbreviation?) a month prior to the current events because Keyd wouldn't have been comfortable reminded me of how quickly (and slowly in turn) their relationship has moved.

You mean as far as what people on Earth do when we have no words for things? I think we just take them from other languages straight up. Especially English, which steals from everybody, ahah. Well, this is all through an Alan-viewscreen, so HE assumes Keyd wouldn't have been comfortable that short a time ago, but maybe he would have. But their relationship does move in very sudden spurts, usually caused by some kind of event or realization that gets them suddenly to a different level, and in between it is much more slow moving. They don't get a ton of time to actually focus on their relationship which is why it happens like that. :)
