Obscura III: sneak peek

Okay here is a thing~! It doesn't pick up right at the start of the next chapter, but hopefully everyone enjoys the scene that this is. :)

I laughed so much when I realised the first thing Keyd ever hears Alan say is just him muttering "dicks" to himself, completely out of context. You make the most amazing first impressions, Alan. Truly.

Alan is king of first impressions, be they terrible, ridiculous, or just flat out bizarre. XD This one especially impressive, good job Alan. They are best couple clearly

At least it's an accurate first impression. Foul mouthed, not a warrior, possibly useful anyway?

Yep pretty much! Keyd's pretty trained in assessing allies/useful things in general so he does draw a fast, broad, but accurate, sketch of Alan right here just automatically. And then Alan gives some details by mostly swearing but also kinda proving himself to not FREAK OUT at situations (like if he'd run screaming in another direction Keyd would have written him off completely). The fact that he froze up, actually replied coherently in a situation Keyd did at least recognize as odd and possibly unsettling, was also a decent impression

Man, I want more of this so much. I'm guessing it's not next on the update agenda, though? But that is okay, since I also want more of other stories.

Yeah, next is Saul's full chapter from PSoG/renamed A Revolution Kind, because it got second place in the poll that Obscura won in. So that's June's chapter, then July's will be Chiaroscuro because it's High Priority, and then I'll have another poll!

lmao holy shit, I love that the first couple of words Keyd ever hears Alan say are "dicks" and "asshole," it's just too damn perfect. also man I am SO PUMPED to get to see Alan through Keyd's eyes, especially this scene. It's just sort of hilarious to see how different it is from when we see it from Alan's eyes

Yeah that's not something totally obvious in Alan's POV since he's not looking when Keyd 'wakes up' and it's not really something you'd think about reading his perspective, the first words that Keyd would hear him say, but naturally it's a lot of dumb swearing. XD And poor Keyd thinks he's kind of dealing with this situation okay. He knows he's bad at this but he really has no idea how terrifying he's being, and in the second meeting scene he's a little more panicked but is honestly still trying to be considerate or do what will be the most useful/effective thing for everyone involved. Obviously Alan does NOT get any of that, he just sees a scary motherfucker in his apartment who kidnaps him .

Oh but there's also the wedding story this month and it has both of their POVs in it so you'll get a little more doofus Keyd then :)
