We are BACK with our FIRST Star Wars Rebels Q&A. This time, y'all sent us in a bunch of great questions about the crew of the Ghost, the sleeping arrangements aboard the ship (👀), our interest in Prequel vs Original Trilogy designs, and more. But that doesn't stop us from distracting ourselves with little freaks and video game trailers and some truly outlandish digressions. We're not sorry. We're never sorry.

Enjoy!

Cam Lewis

Never apologize for the little freaks.

Patrick Kay

excited to hear turgle content

None of the prequel trilogy ship designs have stuck with me at all for whatever reason. I don’t think they’re actively bad but when I think of Star Wars ships it’s always the old stuff.

mechahendrix

I love reading the shown notes before I listen to the show. We getting some KOTOR this week babyyyy

Mike

i haven’t played Jedi Survivor so when they played the Turgle clip i got whiplash from realizing it’s Raz from Psychonauts

R.S. Hunter

I dunno why, but seeing the poster with all the helmets, my brain immediately went "Oh hey, that's Carnor Jax. Wait, why do I even remember his name?"

Austin Bridges

Kanan would 100% be the Tim Heidecker character from ITYSL who just lists obscure jazz musicians

Lev

Why doesn’t anybody ever talk about Skoova Stev!?

Coreyyy

KOTOR for Remap 101.

Re: Spock being hot. In the original series, Spock was not initially intended to be hot, but due to the potency of public reaction (to how hot he was), Nimoy was able to negotiate a more central role for Spock in the later seasons, including making him a romantic lead on par with Kirk. Interestingly, considering Kirk's reputation as a womanizer, most of the episodes where Kirk gets a romance story are about Kirk falling in love with the episode's leading lady, while most of Spock's episodes are about the leading lady falling in love with him. Spock's struggle to reciprocate the feelings of what seems at times to be every third woman he meets is a major character arc toward the end of the series.

In the original books Thrawn looks at the art for some planet and goes, "Aha, I've figured out from their art that they're afraid of DEATH. Therefore, my master strategy is to THREATEN them." Luckily he has head-empty lackeys like Pellaeon to make him look smart.

Kara

You don't have the Naboo Starfighter design pop into your head? No criticism, maybe it depends how young you were when you watched. I was a kid in 2001 and that yellow naboo starfighter is on par with the main OG ships for me. I think there's a reason they brought it back for Mando

noshotsfired.tv

I was a kid as well and the Naboo fighter is the closest one for sure but it’s still a tier below pretty much any original ship I can think of. Any of the starfighters or TIEs and there’s nothing even close to the Millenium Falcon in those movies to me.

Molly Weinberger

Caij absolutely does NOT have an Australian accent.

Nicholas Kent

I think by the end of Rebels, Rob might think it was made for specifically him.

Duncan

I hope they remember the music taste conversation

C

New Zealandish?

Donald W Pratt

Ugh, little guys. Little guys are the bane of my existence. When I was bouncing, little guys were the ultimate nightmare.

Meg

I need citations for these sleep studies. Because I fully believe it’s better to sleep in separate beds!

Molly Weinberger

Not New Zealander either. It's just a not very well directed Canadian going for a very awkward and grating accent they haven't studied well enough.

Greg Hodgson-Fopp

Please please please do a show on the Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor games .. /beg

Barry Fontenot

Turgle is just the most Alpha-5-pilled little dude

Niamh

I read Hera so differently! Hera had a life before she was crew mom and rebel pilot and she's been a cool girl the whole time. She might not have time or motivation to be researching new music but she has excellent 90's alternative playlists. Hera knows every song on Yellowjackets and has opinions about which deeper cuts they should have used instead, or she would if she had time to watch Yellowjackets. Hera was at Star Wars Lilith Fair. Hera played bass guitar in an all girl grunge band when she was Sabine's age, but she dropped out of the scene when she realized most of the people around her were all talk. I will continue to believe this about her spiritually even as her backstory is revealed and contradicts it.

C

Ah, understood. I suppose we can consider it some kind of space accent.

Kzinssie

Turgle very specifically sounds like a Grunt from Halo which feels intentional

dotgrid

I’m sorry but Kanan likes tool and the dave matthews band because he’s a cool uncle who went to state school in the 90s.

Matt Nelson

please please please please PLEASE do an episode on Jedi Survivor. I honestly think it is one of the best Star Wars games of all time, surprising me, someone who identifies deeply with Rob and Austin in growing up with the EU and Rebel Assault and Dark Forces and all of that. I was blown away by how good it was.

Conrad Loyer

Seconded! Plus I really love the writing of both games in the series; Survivor has a conversation that implies some really interesting things about how Nightsisters conceive of the Force!

Falcon

Love you guys. Love the show. But can we talk about how you keep saying Lothal wrong? I don't think a single character has ever said it the way y'all are. But they sure do say it the right way pretty much every episode. This isn't a tomato/potato sort of thing.

adam

this is extremely off topic, but I just wanted to send a PSA that I feel like y'all may want to mute every keyword related to rebels/Ashoka with that Ashoka show on the horizon. It seems like it's a straight up continuation of Rebels and there's a ton of spoilers in plain sight.
