Expanded Features: Masked Veilweaver and Veiled Actor (Patreon)

Masked Veilweaver (Vigilante Archetype)
The masked vigilante, a popular trope that includes numerous heroes and villains. Some choose to use veilweaving to embolden their escapades, wearing their veil as a mask to hide their identity and grant them their power.
Veilweaving: A masked veilweaver learns to shape the magical power known as akasha into powerful veils, which are drawn from the eclipse veil list. They know and can shape any veil from this list. The masked veilweaver uses their Charisma as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the masked veilweaver’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the masked veilweaver’s veilweaving modifier.
The masked veilweaver can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 1 veil at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, and 18th level.
At 1st level, the masked veilweaver gains access to a pool of essence which can be invested into their veils and other essence receptacles to increase their power. The masked veilweaver gains 1 point of essence at each class level.
This replaces the vigilante’s vigilante specialization class feature, and their vigilante talents gained at 4th, 6th, 10th, 12th, and 18th levels.
Masked Veilweaving: When using the Disguise skill to conceal their veils invested with 0 points of essence, the masked veilweaver adds their seamless disguise bonus to their check rather than the normal +5 circumstance bonus. Veils disguised in this way cannot be detected by detect magic, true seeing, or similar effects. Investing a disguised veil immediately reveals their magical nature, and allows them to be detected by the above effects, as normal.
Chakra Binds: At 3rd level and every three levels thereafter, the masked veilweaver gains the ability to bind veils directly to their chakra, unlocking potent new abilities. Masked veilweaver gains the ability to bind slots in the following order: Hands, Feet, Head, Wrists, Shoulders, and Belt.
Improved Essence Capacity: The masked veilweaver’s continued use of their veils have improved their ability to invest them with essence. At 3rd, 9th, and 15th level the maximum essence capacity of all of their essence receptacles increases by 1.
Masked by Veils (Su): At 4th level, the masked veilweaver has learned to mask their appearance entirely by their veils, allowing them to more easily take on their vigilante identity and disguise themselves, even while lacking in mundane tools to do so. Adopting their vigilante identity using this ability takes 5 rounds, improving to a standard action with the quick change social talent and a swift action with the immediate change social talent, and causes the masked veilweaver’s veils to expand into an entire outfit that hides their identity that follows a theme of their design altered by the veils that make it up.
While much quicker than a normal transformation, a masked veilweaver who is masked solely by their veils risks their social identity being exposed if all of their veils are suppressed.
Shielded Mask (Su): At 10th level, the masked veilweaver has learned to shield their veils and their social identity by using their essence. Their veils do not have their magical nature revealed by detect magic, true seeing, or similar magic effects, even while invested with essence, and whenever the masked veilweaver invests essence into their veils they can choose for that veil to still appear as a mundane object, though attempts to disguise them when doing so only receive half the benefit from their seamless disguise (rounded down).
Additionally, the masked veilweaver has further improved their masked by veils ability, allowing them to maintain a thin suit of akasha that hides their identity even if all of their veils are suppressed or unshaped. This also allows them to use their masked by veils ability even if they have no veils shaped, or while in an antimagic field or similar effect. If the masked veilweaver is killed, this ability ends.
Masked Veilweaver Social Talents
The following social talents can be selected by a masked veilweaver:
Adaptable Veil: When the masked veilweaver shaped their veils for the day they can choose to designate one of their veil slots as an adaptable veil. When shaping a veil in this slot they may choose to shape one veil using that slot for their social identity and a different veil for their vigilante identity. Whenever the masked veilweaver changes their identity, the adaptable veil changes as well. The inactive veil is considered to be suppressed while the masked veilweaver is not in the identity it is assigned to. The veils shaped using this ability must be able to be legally shaped alongside their other shaped veils in both identities. For example: If the masked veilweaver chooses to use the Stalker’s Tabi veil as their vigilante identity adaptable veil, they cannot have another Feet-slot veil shaped using their normal veil slots unless they have the Twin Veil feat or a similar ability. They could however choose to shape a Feet-slot veil using their social identity’s adaptable veil.
Improved Adaptable Veil: The masked veilweaver chooses two veils each day to act as their adaptable veils. The masked veilweaver must be at least 7th level and have the adaptable veil social talent to select this talent.
Greater Adaptable Veil: The masked veilweaver chooses three veils each day to act as their adaptable veils. The masked veilweaver must be at least 13th level and have the improved adaptable veil social talent to select this talent.
Perfected Adaptable Veil: The masked veilweaver chooses four veils each day to act as their adaptable veils. The masked veilweaver must be at least 19th level and have the greater adaptable veil social talent to select this talent.
Masked Veilweaver Vigilante Talents
The following vigilante talents can be selected by a masked veilweaver:
Exotic Binds: The masked veilweaver chooses a single one of the following chakra slots and gains the ability to bind veils to it at its listed vigilante level: Headband (14th), Neck (16th), Chest (20th), Body (20th). This vigilante talent can be selected multiple times, granting a new chakra bind each time it is selected.
Expanded Veils: The masked veilweaver chooses a number of veils equal to their Charisma modifier (minimum 2) and adds them to their veil list. If the masked veilweaver gains a permanent increase to their Charisma modifier, they add new veils to their veil list retroactively using this ability. If that permanent increase is later lost, they lose those veils. If it is regained, they gain the same veils they chose the first time.
Martial Veilweaving: Whenever the masked veilweaver wields a weapon produced by a veil with the [enhanced (weapon)] descriptor, they may use their class level in place of their base attack bonus when making attacks with that weapon. This replacement of their base attack bonus also applies to feats used with those attacks (such as Power Attack) and when qualifying for feats that use base attack bonus as a prerequisite. They may only use those feats with weapons produced by an [enhance (weapon)] veil unless their natural base attack bonus is high enough to meet the feat’s prerequisites.
Veiled Actor (Troubadour Archetype)
These fabled actors have mastered the art of combining veilweaving with their stage performances, effortless swapping between veils and roles in both theatre and combat.
Veilweaving: A veiled actor learns to shape the magical power known as akasha into powerful veils, which are drawn from the vizier veil list. They know and can shape any veil from this list. However, they do not gain the ability to shape Ring-slot veils. The veiled actor uses their Charisma as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the veiled actor’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the veiled actor’s veilweaving modifier.
The veiled actor can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 1 veil at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 3rd and 5th level.
At 1st level, the masked veilweaver gains access to a pool of essence which can be invested into their veils and other essence receptacles to increase their power. The masked actor gains a pool of essence equal to 1/2 their troubadour level, rounded up.
This replaces the troubadour’s casting, spell pool, and master actor class features, as well as their persona quirks gained at 3rd and 5th level, and their magic talents gained at 5th, 9th, 13th, and 17th level.
Veiled Personas: The veiled actor has ingrained their veilweaving so well into their personas that they may shape and utilize different veils for each of their personas. When creating a persona, the veiled actor chooses a veil list from the following list for each personas: daevic, eclipse, guru, nexus, radiant, stormbound.
When shaping their veils for the day, the veiled actor shapes different veils for each of their personas using their veils gained from veiled actor levels and from veils gained from the record keeper trope. The veiled actor does not gain the ability to shape veils from esoteric chakra using this ability (such as Blood or Storm veils). Each of these veils are shaped from the selected veil list chosen for that persona, rather than the veiled actor’s normal veil list. Whenever the veiled actor adopts a persona, all of their veils gained from veiled actor levels and the record keeper trope shaped by the base persona are suppressed and replaced by the veils of the chosen persona, and vice versa when the veiled actor returns to their base persona. Any essence invested in these veils is uninvested as part of this change, and any ongoing effects from a veil suppressed in this way immediately end, even if they wouldn’t normally be ended by the veil that created them being suppressed. This does not apply to instantaneous effects created by a veil. Veils bound to chakra slots remain bound when being suppressed and unsuppressed using this ability.
If the veiled actor has the ability to shape veils from a different source than their veiled actor levels or the record keeper trope, those veils are not affected when changing personas. In such a case, each persona’s shaped veils must be legal to be shaped alongside veils gained from other sources. For example: I persona could not have a Hands-slot veil shaped if the veiled actor has a Hands-slot veil shaped that would not be suppressed when they change their persona, unless they have the ability to shape multiple veils in that slot.
This modifies the troubadour’s personas class feature.
Method Actor: A veiled actor gains this ability at 7th level, rather than 1st level.
This modifies the veiled actor’s method actor class feature.
Greater Actor: A veiled actor gains this ability at 15th level, rather than 7th level.
This modifies the veiled actor’s greater actor class feature.
Low Chakra Binding: At 2nd level, the veiled actor gains access to a low chakra bind. Each day when they shape their veils, they can choose whether they wish to bind veils to the Feet or Hands slot. They can choose different binds for each of their personas. At 5th level, they additionally can choose between the Head slot, and can choose two binds rather than one.
Improved Essence Capacity: The veiled actor’s continued use of their veils have improved their ability to invest them with essence. At 9th, and 15th level the maximum essence capacity of all of their essence receptacles increases by 1.
Middle Chakra Binding: At 9th level, the veiled actor gains access to a middle chakra bind. Each day when they shape their veils, they can choose whether they wish to bind veils to the Wrists, Shoulders or Headband slots. They can choose different binds for each of their personas. At 13th level, they choose two binds rather than one.
High Chakra Binding: At 17th level, the veiled actor gains access to a high chakra bind. Each day when they shape their veils, they can choose whether they wish to bind veils to the Neck, or Belt slot. They can choose different binds for each of their personas.

Veiled Actor Tropes
Mentor (Veiled Actor)
When selected by a veiled actor, the mentor trope instead grants the following trope benefit:
Trope Benefit: A mentor may combine spheres and talents to create magical effects. The mentor is considered a low-caster. If this is the first time they have gained the ability to cast spells using magic spheres, they may select a casting tradition. They do not gain 2 bonus talents as part of a tradition gained through this trope. In addition, the mentor gains a pool of spell points equal to 1/2 their troubadour level + their casting ability modifier. If the mentor has multiple casting classes, they instead add half their troubadour level when determining their spell points.
