New Alternate Class Features

Minor Veils: The spellweaver gains the ability to shape 2 minor veils each day and adds all minor veils to their veil list.

This replaces the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature.

New Archetypes

Faithweaver (Spellweaver Archetype)

Channeling the powers of their faith has allowed the faithweaver to shape veils derived entirely from divine power, and then to shatter those veils to perform miracles.

Faithweaving: Faithweavers use spells drawn from the cleric and inquisitor lists. Only cleric spells of 7th level or lower and inquisitor spells are considered to be part of their spell list. The faithweaver has no spell slots, and uses their Wisdom as their casting ability score. The faithweaver’s spells are divine magic. The DC for saving throws against the faithweaver’s spells is 10 + the spell’s level + the faithweaver’s Wisdom modifier.

The faithweaver prepares their spells through meditation or prayer as part of shaping their veils each day. Rather than preparing a number of spells of each level each day, they may prepare a number of faithweaver spells equal to their Wisdom modifier + their class level of any level they can cast. They can only prepare spells of a maximum level based on their class level. At 1st level, they can only learn and prepare 1st level spells. This increases to 2nd level spells at 4th level, 3rd level spells at 7th level, 4th level spells at 10th level, 5th level spells at 13th level, 6th level spells at 16th level, and 7th level spells at 19th level. This includes any spells prepared with metamagic. For example, a 1st level spell prepared with the Silent Spell metamagic feat would count as a 2nd level spell for this purpose. A faithweaver can spontaneously apply any metamagic feat they possess with a +0 level adjustment as part of casting a spell using this ability without an increase to its casting time. To prepare a spell, the faithweaver must have a Wisdom score equal to 10 + the spell’s level.

The faithweaver can cast any faithweaver spell they have prepared by shattering one of their shaped veils gained from their faithweaver levels. The faithweaver can use this ability to cast the same prepared spells multiple times each day. They cannot shatter any veils gained from abilities, feats, racial features, or from other classes using this ability. A shattered veil has its effects completely suppressed for 10 minutes, and all of the essence invested in it at the time of its shattering is burned. This burned essence is not able to be normally recovered, but is recovered automatically when the veil is no longer suppressed. If the burned essence was bound to the shattered veil, it remains bound to the veil after this duration. The spell is then cast normally, gaining a bonus based on the chakra slot the shattered veil was shaped in, and the amount of essence burned, as per Table: Spellweaving Chakra Effects.

If a spell cast using faithweaving has a duration longer than 10 minutes (including spells with a duration of permanent, such as permanency, but not spells with an instantaneous effect, such as animate dead or wall of strone), the faithweaver must choose whether to end the effects of the spell after this 10 minute period, or whether they leave the veil suppressed for the remaining duration. At any time, as part of investing their essence, the faithweaver can choose to end the duration of one of these effects and unsuppress the veil (only after the initial 10 minutes has passed). The faithweaver must provide all of the components of a spell cast using their faithweaving ability, as normal for casting the spell. A faithweaver can never shatter a minor veil as part of their faithweaving ability.

This modifies the spellweaver’s spellweaving class feature.

Orisons: At 1st level, the faithweaver can prepare a number of orisons, or 0-level spells, each day. They can prepare 3 orisons each day at 1st level, increasing to 4 orisons per day at 2nd level and 5 orisons per day at 6th level. The faithweaver does not need to shatter veils to cast their 0-level spells as long as the total spell level is 0 (a 0-level spell with +1 or higher metamagic is cast as a normal spell).

This modifies the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature, but not for the purposes of archetype compatibility.

Geoweaver (Spellweaver Archetype)

These spellweavers learn their spellcasting from the power of the natural world, drawing from the arts of druidism to produce magics that interface with the world and nature.

Geoweaving: Geoweavers use spells drawn from the druid and ranger lists. Only druid spells of 7th level or lower and ranger spells are considered to be part of their spell list. The geoweaver has no spell slots, and uses their Wisdom as their casting ability score. The geoweaver’s spells are divine magic. The DC for saving throws against the geoweaver’s spells is 10 + the spell’s level + the geoweaver’s Wisdom modifier.

The geoweaver prepares their spells through meditation or prayer as part of shaping their veils each day. Rather than preparing a number of spells of each level each day, they may prepare a number of geoweaver spells equal to their Wisdom modifier + their class level of any level they can cast. A geoweaver can spontaneously apply any metamagic feat they possess with a +0 level adjustment as part of casting a spell using this ability without an increase to its casting time. To prepare a spell, the geoweaver must have a Wisdom score equal to 10 + the spell’s level.

The geoweaver can cast any geoweaver spell they have prepared by shattering one of their shaped veils gained from their geoweaver levels. The geoweaver can use this ability to cast the same prepared spells multiple times each day.

If a spell cast using geoweaving has a duration longer than 10 minutes (including spells with a duration of permanent, such as permanency, but not spells with an instantaneous effect, such as animate dead or wall of strone), the geoweaver must choose whether to end the effects of the spell after this 10 minute period, or whether they leave the veil suppressed for the remaining duration. At any time, as part of investing their essence, the geoweaver can choose to end the duration of one of these effects and unsuppress the veil (only after the initial 10 minutes has passed). The geoweaver must provide all of the components of a spell cast using their geoweaving ability, as normal for casting the spell. A geoweaver can never shatter a minor veil as part of their geoweaving ability.

This modifies the spellweaver’s spellweaving class feature.

Orisons: At 1st level, the geoweaver can prepare a number of orisons, or 0-level spells, each day. They can prepare 3 orisons each day at 1st level, increasing to 4 orisons per day at 2nd level and 5 orisons per day at 6th level. The geoweaver does not need to shatter veils to cast their 0-level spells as long as the total spell level is 0 (a 0-level spell with +1 or higher metamagic is cast as a normal spell).

This modifies the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature, but not for the purposes of archetype compatibility.

Loreweaver (Spellweaver Archetype)

The art of loreweaving involves tapping into ancient magics drawn from both blood and history to produce a wide variety of magical effects both beneficial and harmful.

Loreweaving: Loreweavers use spells drawn from the sorcerer and bard lists. Only sorcerer spells of 7th level or lower and bard spells are considered to be part of their spell list. The loreweaver has no spell slots, and uses their Charisma as their casting ability score. The DC for saving throws against the loreweaver’s spells is 10 + the spell’s level + the loreweaver’s Charisma modifier.

The loreweaver innately knows a number of spells which they can utilize using their loreweaving. At 1st level, they know a number of loreweaver spells equal to their Charisma modifier plus 1. At each level thereafter, they learn an additional spell of any level they can cast. Whenever the loreweaver gains a new class level, they can choose to replace one of their known spells with another loreweaver spell of any level they can cast. The loreweaver can only learn spells of a maximum level based on their class level. At 1st level, they can only learn 1st level spells. This increases to 2nd level spells at 4th level, 3rd level spells at 7th level, 4th level spells at 10th level, 5th level spells at 13th level, 6th level spells at 16th level, and 7th level spells at 19th level. A geoweaver can spontaneously apply any metamagic feat they possess with a +0 level adjustment as part of casting a spell using this ability without an increase to its casting time. The loreweaver can only apply other metamagic to their spells as part of their automatic heightening class feature. To learn a spell, the loreweaver must have a Charisma score equal to 10 + the spell’s level.

The loreweaver can cast any loreweaver spell they have learned by shattering one of their shaped veils gained from their loreweaver levels. The loreweaver can use this ability to cast the same spell multiple times each day.

If a spell cast using loreweaving has a duration longer than 10 minutes (including spells with a duration of permanent, such as permanency, but not spells with an instantaneous effect, such as animate dead or wall of strone), the loreweaver must choose whether to end the effects of the spell after this 10 minute period, or whether they leave the veil suppressed for the remaining duration. At any time, as part of investing their essence, the loreweaver can choose to end the duration of one of these effects and unsuppress the veil (only after the initial 10 minutes has passed). The loreweaver must provide all of the components of a spell cast using their loreweaving ability, as normal for casting the spell. A loreweaver can never shatter a minor veil as part of their loreweaving ability.

This modifies the spellweaver’s spellweaving class feature.

Cantrips: At 1st level, the loreweaver learns 4 0-level loreweaver spells. At 2nd level, and again at 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th levels the loreweaver learns an additional 0-level spell. The loreweaver does not need to shatter veils to cast their 0-level spells as long as the total spell level is 0 (a 0-level spell with +1 or higher metamagic is cast as a normal spell).

This modifies the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature, but not for the purposes of archetype compatibility.

Mindweaver (Spellweaver Archetype)

These enigmatic spellwavers chose to focus on the magics of the mind, developing psychic abilities and spells to fuel using the powers of their shattered veils.

Mindweaving: Mindweavers use spells drawn from the psychic and mesmerist lists. Only sorcerer spells of 7th level or lower and bard spells are considered to be part of their spell list. The mindweaver has no spell slots, and uses their Charisma as their casting ability score. The mindweaver’s spells are psychic magic. The DC for saving throws against the mindweaver’s spells is 10 + the spell’s level + the mindweaver’s Charisma modifier.

The mindweaver innately knows a number of spells which they can utilize using their mindweaving. At 1st level, they know a number of mindweaver spells equal to their Charisma modifier plus 1. At each level thereafter, they learn an additional spell of any level they can cast. Whenever the mindweaver gains a new class level, they can choose to replace one of their known spells with another mindweaver spell of any level they can cast. The mindweaver can only learn spells of a maximum level based on their class level. The mindweaver can only apply other metamagic to their spells as part of their automatic heightening class feature. To learn a spell, the mindweaver must have a Charisma score equal to 10 + the spell’s level.

The mindweaver can cast any mindweaver spell they have learned by shattering one of their shaped veils gained from their mindweaver levels. The mindweaver can use this ability to cast the same spell multiple times each day.

If a spell cast using mindweaving has a duration longer than 10 minutes (including spells with a duration of permanent, such as permanency, but not spells with an instantaneous effect, such as animate dead or wall of strone), the mindweaver must choose whether to end the effects of the spell after this 10 minute period, or whether they leave the veil suppressed for the remaining duration. At any time, as part of investing their essence, the mindweaver can choose to end the duration of one of these effects and unsuppress the veil (only after the initial 10 minutes has passed). The mindweaver must provide all of the components of a spell cast using their mindweaving ability, as normal for casting the spell. A mindweaver can never shatter a minor veil as part of their mindweaving ability.

This modifies the spellweaver’s spellweaving class feature.

Knacks: At 1st level, the mindweaver learns 4 0-level mindweaver spells. At 2nd level, and again at 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th levels the mindweaver learns an additional 0-level spell. The mindweaver does not need to shatter veils to cast their 0-level spells as long as the total spell level is 0 (a 0-level spell with +1 or higher metamagic is cast as a normal spell).

This modifies the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature, but not for the purposes of archetype compatibility.

Witchweaver (Spellweaver Archetype)

These rare few spellweavers were said to be the precursors to the modern-day witch. Possessing the ability to commune with familiars to learn and prepare their spells, these spellweavers can utilize a wider variety of magic than most of their compatriots.

Witchweaving: Witchweavers use spells drawn from the witch list. Only witch spells of 7th level or lower are considered to be part of their spell list. The witchweaver has no spell slots, and uses their Intelligence as their casting ability score. The DC for saving throws against the witchweaver’s spells is 10 + the spell’s level + the witchweaver’s Intellignece modifier.

Rather than preparing a number of spells of each spell level each day, the withweaver can prepare a total number of withweaver spells each day equal to their class level + their spellcasting modifier. A witchweaver can spontaneously apply any metamagic feat they possess with a +0 level adjustment as part of casting a spell using this ability without an increase to its casting time. To learn and cast a witchweaver spell, the witchweaver must have an Intelligence score equal to or greater than 10 + the spell’s level.

The witchweaver forms a close bond with a familiar that grants them their magical knowledge and stores their known spells, and the witchweaver must prepare their spells by communing with their familiar as part of shaping their veils for the day. The witchweaver’s familiar begins play with knowledge of a number of 1st-level spells equal to 3 + their Intelligence modifier. At each level after 1st, the witchweaver’s familiar learns an additional 2 spells of any level the witchweaver can cast. The witchweaver’s familiar can also learn new spells as normal for a witch’s familiar, such as through scrolls or by being taught by another witch’s familiar.

The witchweaver can cast any witchweaver spell they have prepared by shattering one of their shaped veils gained from their witchweaver levels. The witchweaver can use this ability to cast the same prepared spells multiple times each day.

If a spell cast using witchweaving has a duration longer than 10 minutes (including spells with a duration of permanent, such as permanency, but not spells with an instantaneous effect, such as animate dead or wall of strone), the witchweaver must choose whether to end the effects of the spell after this 10 minute period, or whether they leave the veil suppressed for the remaining duration. At any time, as part of investing their essence, the witchweaver can choose to end the duration of one of these effects and unsuppress the veil (only after the initial 10 minutes has passed). The witchweaver must provide all of the components of a spell cast using their witchweaving ability, as normal for casting the spell. A witchweaver can never shatter a minor veil as part of their witchweaving ability.

This modifies the spellweaver’s spellweaving class feature.

Witchweaver’s Familiar: At 1st level, the witchweaver forms a close bond with a familiar, a creature that teaches them magic and helps guide them along their path. This ability functions as the witch’s familiar class feature of the witch, using the witchweaver’s class level as their witch level.

At 3rd level, if the witchweaver’s familiar has the deliver touch spells ability it also gains the ability to deliver the effects of the witchweaver’s veils. Whenever the witchweaver uses an ability of a veil that can be delivered with a touch, the witchweaver can store its effects within their familiar. During the familiar’s next turn, it can deliver that veil effect just as the witchweaver could have (making a melee touch attack, if necessary) as a standard action. The witchweaver must be in physical contact with their familiar when they use the veil effect to store it within their familiar. The veil effect remains stored within their familiar until it chooses to discharge it, or until they activate another veil effect that costs an action or they cast a spell or use a spell-like ability.

This replaces the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature.
