Hello everyone!

Here’s a quick update on how development is going, along with the official release date. The next update will launch on 22nd of February.

Ryo’s quest is now complete. The player’s job quest is also complete. I’m currently working on Nijika’s quest and improvements to the replay gallery UI.

My initial goal was to release on the 14th/15th of February, but I need more time to polish the dialogue and scenes for a better experience.

This update will introduce new mechanics to the game, aside from the job system that was detailed in the previous dev log.

Character Schedule:

In the Bocchi the Rock! series, it’s stated that the girls don’t take shifts at Starry every day. For the game’s immersion to stay as close as possible to the series, the girls will not be available at Starry every day.

How do I know where and when to find a specific character?

To solve this, I created a Character Tracker.

It’s pretty basic for now, but it serves its purpose. As development continues and each character’s schedule becomes more complete, I plan to expand it into a sort of calendar showing where each character will be each day.

Map screen overhaul (WIP):

I’ve been struggling for some time to find a better way to present the game’s map.

My first idea was to use a real city map with pins for each location.

However, I quickly realized that most locations wouldn’t have real-world counterparts, so for now I settled on this:

The "design" (if you could call it that) it's very basic for now, but I’m focusing on functionality first and will improve the visuals in future updates.

New location Konbini:

Now that there’s a way to earn money, there should also be a way to spend it!

Any ideas, opinions or doubts? Leave it in the comments!

That’s it for this dev log. See you next time!

Great job, I have an idea! It would be fun to buy gifts for girls, perhaps through certain "correct gifts" given in equally correct situations. For example, if you discover that a girl likes a certain type of object but feels ashamed of it. Giving the item in front of other girls could be a mistake even if you have the chance, but if you give it in a different situation and you already have a lot of friendship or love points maybe you can find a scene or a secret dialogue or both.

That's a really good idea! I was thinking of implementing gifts for replenishing trust with characters, each character having likes/dislikes and a favorite item, implementing with situational conditions like you mentioned would bring much more depth for this, it would be a neat addition.
