Hello everyone!
In this post, I'm going to give a quick update on what to expect in the next update and what I've been working on over the past week.
Expected for next update:
Kita's Quest:
The next update will focus primarily on Kita. Although she did make an appearance in the last update, I think it's time to give her some proper attention with her own quest.
Work, Dream and Gathering:
For now, I think I have most of the systems in place (work, dreams, gathering, etc.), but they still need some polish. For the work system, I plan to write actual scenes instead of just a single sentence explaining what happened during that shift, such as "You managed to pick 4 boxes." Rarer and harder shifts will have longer, and possibly lewd, scenes or grant better stat bonuses.
The dream system also needs more than just one dream. The functionality is already in place, I just need to create more. The Bocchi dream from the last update is the only one available for now. It's supposed to be a rare dream, but since it's the only one, it's fairly easy to get. Some of you may be concerned about not being able to unlock every dream, but there's a pity system that prioritizes dreams you haven't seen yet. I also plan to make the Dreamcatcher more accessible by reducing its cost from 10 to 5 Insight Points and showing how many dreams you still haven't unlocked.
Gathering with Ryo will receive a small update. It will become possible to gather flowers, which can be gifted to the girls to increase their trust.
What I did and what I'm currently working on:
I refactored the code for the Shop and Character Schedule systems, making them easier to work with and less likely to cause problems with old saves.
I'm currently working on a complete redesign of the Quest screen.
This is how it's looking so far:
I added a character filter, making it easier to find quests for a specific character. I don't think this is much of an issue right now, but it could become one as more quests are added, so I decided to implement it early.
I also reworked how quests are displayed. Nijika's quests, in particular, were difficult to read because of the yellow background and white text.
It's still a work in progress. The animated backgrounds for each quest type (Active, Completed, and Failed) are finished, but the rest still needs work, such as increasing the font size, further adjusting the colors, designing the quest boxes properly, and other UI improvements.
