Hello, everyone. I want to discuss what's going to happen over the next few weeks. I don't have GNM4 ready, and it's probably not going to be ready for a little while. My other projects have hit some issues that have delayed them as well, which means I'm a little devoid of consistent content right now. But I still want to offer something which is what I'm going to discuss today.

First, a quick update on GNM4. I'm still working on the script, but the big hold up is I'm having some challenges when doing some of the model work. But I don't really have anything to discuss at this time more than that. I will add that several of the comments I've gotten from GNM3 Mini have made changes to the approach of GNM4 and I like how it is looking so far.I haven't done a general comic update in a while, so perhaps I will post that on Sunday.

Anyway, I discussed recently the idea of an additional payment tier and offering some additional content for that. I also have the recent experiment with the Gardevoir model that resulted in a pin-up which people seemed to like. So I'm going to do a middle ground for between comic releases.

I am going to take open requests from $5 patrons on captions and pinups.

It sounds easy, but there are a few hurdles I'm going to have to figure out.

The first is the number of requests. As I gain patrons, that means the number of potential requests will go up, and I will have to pick which ones to do. So, I can either do them chronologically, I could pick a bunch of them and put it up to a community vote, or I could just pick them at random. I would genuinely like some feedback on how I could possibly do this. I will clarify that if the number of requests gets out of hand, I will have to stop and get things under control. (Although at that point, maybe I will create the higher tier?)

Second, there's also the matter of, do I just have an open topic where people leave these comments, or should I tell people to send them via DM? That said, these will be posted publicly.

Third, there's also the matter that some of you might request something I either can't or won't do. But those are things I will cover on a case by case basis.

That's where I'm at now. Please let me know some of your thoughts on the matter.

I follow a couple creators that do this in a slightly different ways. The first is MorphyM. They have dedicated, but limited slots in higher tiers which lets patrons do requests, one per month. They allow requests to be submitted via an open thread, but everyone in the tier just submits via DM anyway. The experience I've had is Morphy and I discuss the idea I have to make sure it's doable, etc. The other is ChernoSize. They have a more open box, like what you're suggesting/leaning towards, where everyone submits on a thread for the current month. After a cutoff time, Cherno draws 2 requests at random- they make a recording of them using WheelOfNames or something similar and spinning it twice. Depending on how many patrons you have, I think I'd recommend taking idea submissions and say you're taking X this month, or between-series period, or however you want to divide it up, and then pick from what you're given randomly. I don't think setting an expectation that you'll definitely do everything submitted that meets guidelines is a good idea, for fear of it feeling like a crushing amount of work. Just having an open/close period, and if your idea doesn't get used you're welcome to submit it again, is pretty normal.

I’ve seen other creators do open requests before, my favorite example being that of Ink, who will do about 5 a month from a post they do at the beginning of the month that is available for certain tier members to comment on. I’ve never put too much thought on the vetting process for said posts. I figured they picked them based on the ideas they liked the most 🤷 because it’s cool already you’re taking our suggestions at all, let alone that you’re willing to then do them for us just because you liked the idea.
