Long story short, I have had a helluva time with this story and it has to do with the difficulties of writing something that's much closer to slice of life than I have previously.

I've been wondering if I shouldn't throw most of this away and go back to the drawing board to do a more traditional adventure format, but I kinda like these characters and it IS an interesting experiment for me. Some of you may know that Velise in its original conception was supposed to be more of a slice of life sort of thing, but turned into an adventure because, well, that's the way the story went. THIS story is more along the lines of what I thought THAT story would be, and I'm ambivalent about that, so much so that I stopped work on it entirely as I thought through whether or not I really wanted this to be the result.

As always, your thoughts are welcome, and I hope you'll forgive me the gap in Patreon releases.

I can't see Grace or Daniel starring in an "adventure" story. I mean Grace is trying to get out of that life and Daniel tries very hard to only be in the background and be overlooked

I really like wherever this is going and I really hope you decide to stick with this one to the finish even if you don’t do another slice of life afterwards. I’m also really excited for the next few chapters.

This book seems necessary as a slice of life slow go after the intensity of book 2 and the arrival of the villian group. It also seems to fit nicely in that three month time gap that was dropped in the end of book two

They aren’t fighters, and seem conflict avoidant, but that doesn’t mean conflict can’t come to them. Maybe wit pro gets leaked, and instead of fighting they have to run, idk I feel there’s a great many places you can go. You have a lot of intrigue going too, I have a lot of questions. What becomes of the research Daniel is doing? Something seems really off about Brody, whats he up to? Why the interest from the splicers? Do they know what Daniels up to? You’ve got me hooked and I’ll be sad if you dump it, but I’d understand, keep doing you. I hope the dragon professor gets a book lol.
