So the last scene is edgy. I knew that going in, but if it's too much there are other ways to work through it.

I get why this would be a hard scene to write, or to read, and yes it might be a bit too intense for some readers. But at the same time, this is one fucked-up society we're dealing with here! So I can expect things might get even more edgy or weird or cringe later on. While I'm not really into the kinks used, I understood the significance of both to the story and to the characters involved. That said... I'm sure others who voted otherwise have their reasons (and might be willing to share, that'd lend some clarity.)

While I will say I was not expecting it I think it played out fine. I can see why it would be a thing in the world and why it happened.

The scene fits the tone of the setting and the story thus far, and makes sense. I appreciate how it was used to add characterization and create tension, instead of being used for mere titillation. While not a kink I share, I understand it’s usage in the plot and I think the scene works well when looking at it holistically. Personally, I see no reason that it should change.

While I also think that the scene works, I'm not sold on it being the last chapter of the book. The conflict makes sense and definitely adds to the characters, but isn't relatable enough to really sell me on as a climactic conflict. It just doesn't generate the same kind of impatience for the next book I get reading the climax of Cebelius' other works.

I'm not gonna say I'm a fan of golden showers, but it's not like it's outrageous. Like... the people that PAY to read your stuff early should PROBABLY expect some out-in-the-woods kind of stuff from you (sometimes). So story not ruined or anything... just not my favorite.

I think it works really well except Taz should have dropped a huge F bomb or made an internal comment about all the new swear words they were learning in reaction to the last line. Either way I feel like Taz should have had the last line.

the story flows well from Taz's character, albeit off the beaten path. the cliff hanger works, but im left wanting more; and not in the way I usually am. celestine and WYLAMG cliff hangers some how feel more..complete? like Im satisfied but also cant wait for more. this one just made feel like there is a small bit missing at the very end..cant really say why lol

Loved it, 100% fit Taz, but I do think he should have had the last word and it a so-effing-lutely should have been an eff bomb

I think it's just a tad excessive for a setting that's already chock full of dark and gross elements. It's not SOD breaking, just feels a bit excessive, like I said.

Honestly, the ham fisted "she's not really* my daughter" right before the big scene was worse than the golden shower. Feels like there's room for a flash back or character development earlier in the story that's smoother than a quick step-bandaid. Still not a deal breaker either way.
