Beautiful Louise! I love how you keep detail and values concentrated on the focal point....always learn so much from you! Thank you!

Gyongyver Cseke

I love how the tree turned out. Thank you, Louise!

Hi Louise, this is a beautiful tutorial to add to my wild animal collection. I may have finished painting it today, and must admit that I struggled with water control, specifically, getting really dark color on wet paper. I had to go over the color several times after each layer left to dry. Is that the secret? I will post my version on FB later this week. I may need to fiddle with it a bit more. Thanks so much for this tutorial. I hope you’re well mended.

Louise De Masi

Thank you Beverly. You can layer it but I find it easier to use thick wet pigment - it's like butter when you put it on the paper. I look forward to seeing it. Regarding my wrist-thank you! I have to see a hand surgeon now- ongoing issues unfortunately. 💕

Beverly Amato

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear about your wrist. That sounds awful. I hope you will keep us updated on your recovery. I have missed seeing your posts and paintings, but it’s completely understandable. Take good care, Louise.

Hey Louise. I want to paint the Red Rose. But I don’t have Winsor Red. What alternate color can I use?

Jeanette

Thanks Louise I enjoyed painting the Leopard. A good learning experience.

Catherine Devins

This is a learning challenge for me to balance how wet to make the paper, how liquid to have the paint, and how wet the brush. I practiced on 16 leopard heads to understand all these elements.

Louise De Masi

Love that approach Catherine and that’s exactly how you learn this. There’s no shortcut with water control, it eventually clicks through repetition.

Louise De Masi

Thank you so much Kohav. It sounds like you’ve made good progress in just a year. I’m glad you enjoyed the leopard and that the larger drawing worked well for you. I appreciate your lovely message, and I hope you enjoy the new tutorials I have coming up. 💕
