Hi everyone,

Aside from working on my book, I’ve also been busy painting these four pieces, which will become upcoming Patreon tutorials.

The book is moving along. I’ve now painted two more projects for it, although each one takes quite a long time to complete. I have two paintings left to do, and then I can get started on writing the remainder of the book.

For the green apples, we’ll focus on painting the stripes and creating the soft folds in the tea towel. It looks complicated, but it’s much easier than it appears once we break it down step by step. It was also fairly quick to paint.

The little goldfinch above came about after a few requests for more North American birds. I painted it with a limited palette of just three colours and allowed the paint and water to do much of the work, so it’s a nice painting that shouldn’t take too long to complete.

A snow leopard has been requested many times over the past few years, so I’ve finally painted one! We’ll work with wet on wet washes, creamy paint for the spots and those beautiful pale blue-green eyes.

The pink rose has also been requested quite a few times. I’ve painted roses from this particular bush many times over the years, and I’m very happy to finally turn one into a tutorial. This one was also painted with a limited palette of only three colours.

There’s plenty happening behind the scenes at the moment, and I’m looking forward to sharing all four tutorials with you.

Hi Louise 😊, I am so excited for these next tutorials! They are all beautiful! Those apples look like real apples sitting on the tea towel! I love snow leopards and the beautiful flowing colour around the bird gives him a sense of movement…like he just landed on the branch….and of course who doesn’t love a rose! 🩷

Louise De Masi

Thanks so much Monalisa! I'm glad you're looking forward to them. 🥰

Looks amazing. I painted that snow leopard in pastel years ago. I definitely want to try it in watercolour. I am way more comfortable with pastels. I’ll post it in the paintings I have done in the group chat🫶🏻🤗

I love the encouragement you give us all… the pieces you’ve highlighted that are current are all so different and focus on varied techniques.. the way you present them as so manageable and attainable for us just brings such excitement to me. I am traveling through Nova Scotia on a tour and have limited time to sit and paint , but I am watching tutorials as we go …and I’ve collected many lovely photos for inspiration. Thank you Louise. I so look forward to your updates , Lori

Always beautiful! Will the goldfinch be a tutorial? I love how you've employed a 'looser' technique!

Louise De Masi

Thank you Jana. Yes all of these are upcoming tutorials.

Can’t wait for the goldfinch! Recently bought a house and I think it will go great hanging with the blue jay and chickadee paintings I completed of yours 💗
